00:00Good morning, my name is Phil Hewitt, Group Arts Editor at Sussex Newspapers. Lovely as always to
00:07speak to our town crier, Richard Plowman. But Richard, speaking to you in a completely different
00:12capacity this time, you are the producer for Chichester Film and Videomakers for their latest
00:18film, which gets its premiere at the New Park Cinema on Saturday, June the 7th at 11am. It's
00:26a new film called 120 Seconds. Now, there's significance in those 120 seconds. Explain,
00:33what's this film all about? Well, it's a very ambitious film that we're doing. And
00:37the reason why it's called 120 Seconds is that the car that we have, which is a wonderful Delorean
00:45there, the owner of the car found out that he's actually two minutes in the future. So
00:52he's got, when he sits in the car, he's actually two minutes in the future. So he puts the radio
00:57on, the radio is two minutes in the future. If he gets out, he goes back to normal time,
01:01gets back in, he's still two minutes in the future. And so he reckons that he will make
01:09his fortune by this, by thinking he could put money on pets and goodness knows whatever.
01:14So the film is him trying to make his fortune out of being two minutes in the future.
01:20It sounds fantastic. And it twists and turns out.
01:22It really is good. And we've got some wonderful locations all around Chichester that he tries
01:26to do this. And it's quite amusing the way that he does. But the film has got quite an interesting
01:34twist in it as well. So there's quite a lot going on with it.
01:38And an ending that will surprise dot dot dot.
01:41I think so. Very much so. Yes.
01:44And Chichester locations, you were saying, whereabouts have you been?
01:48Well, we've been all over. I mean, we've been to the Nags Head, the pub there. And we shot
01:53some there in the car park and actually in the pub itself. And we have a few extras that appeared
01:59in there. We've then, most of the filming was up at Goodwood in the race course. And that
02:06was fantastic. So we had a wonderful location there. And we had many of the staff came in
02:12as extras. And it was a really, really good time going up there.
02:16One of the scenes, of course, is at a local garage, which is the ESO garage, which is on just up
02:24the road, Brawl Road. And we had some filming in that. And again, the staff there, one of them
02:32was a really good actor. So we're very pleased with that. And then the guy who owns the DeLorean,
02:41Robin, Robin Hamilton, we used his garage, which is there. And next to his garage, there's also
02:48a lovely display of vintage cars and things. So that makes a wonderful location for it. So yeah,
02:54there's been quite a lot of going around. And locations are always a challenge for a film
03:00cruise in any film. And so it's been quite... It sounds like the great thing for you all,
03:08part of the fun, is the fact that it's really been quite stretching as a project.
03:12Yeah, I think that's it. I've just been talking to the editor and he spent
03:17not 120 seconds, but 120 hours doing the editing on it. So it is got quite a lot of
03:26interesting special effects and various things on it to make the film work itself. So yeah,
03:33very challenging. Challenging, I think, for a club, but we want to make things which are
03:38to a really high professional standard. And this has been the challenge for this, to make sure we've
03:44got a film which is, I think, worthy of all the locations and the story.
03:49Absolutely. But all on a budget of just £500. That's quite so much.
03:56Yeah. £500, we believe. I would say, when you compare that with when you see the major films
04:02out there, which have got, I think it's about a million pounds a day budget they have on that.
04:08And so you can imagine that. But we believe that we've worked to the standards. And so the film
04:15will be very good, I think, and people will enjoy it from that point. So the budget,
04:20to certainly set, is we offer very good value for money.
04:23Absolutely. Brilliant. So the premiere then, just to confirm, Chichester Film and Video Makers,
04:29120 seconds is the film, Saturday, June the 7th at 11am at the Chichester Cinema at New Park.
04:36Richard, congratulations to the producer. Lovely to speak to you. Thank you.
04:40Thank you very much, Phil. And thanks. And I hope you'll be coming along to see it as well.
04:45Certainly hope to. Thank you.
04:46Okay. Thanks very much. Thanks.
