00:09We've been speaking to friends of the Pope who say that Pope Leo XIV is a more calm,
00:15reserved, shy figure than his predecessor, but we've already been given clear indications
00:20that he'll look to follow in the footsteps of the late Pope Francis.
00:24He's described his legacy already as being quite precious and made many mentions
00:29of world peace, which was of course a focus of Francis.
00:34In today's dramatic scenario of a third world war being fought, as Pope Francis has repeatedly stated,

00:58and he's expected to do that on the afternoon of Monday, Rome time,
01:02where it's almost certain he'll be asked by the many American reporters here
01:07about his views on the Trump administration and immigration policy.
01:11Pope Leo XIV, when he was Cardinal Robert Provost, made some opinions on that issue
01:16pretty clear on social media and the like.
01:19Pope Leo XIV will be inaugurated here at the Vatican on the 18th of May,
01:22and then the job really begins.
