00:00Put that title up one more time, and I'll put up my entire career.
00:07Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:09And today, we're counting down our picks for the most moving promos to ever come from WWE wrestlers.
00:15You, Cody, were his favorite son.
00:23Number 10, Paige retires.
00:26When Paige joined WWE, it wasn't long before she was a success.
00:31In fact, she made history by becoming the youngest woman to win the Divas Championship at 21 years old.
00:47That's why the promo where she calls it quits on wrestling hit so hard.
00:51In 2018, during the April 9th episode of Raw, she revealed that neck injuries would require her to retire.
00:57The promo was a heartbreaking moment where she and the fans had to come to terms with the end of her career.
01:03We have all built this division to be huge into something we didn't imagine it could ever be.
01:11So thank you, ladies backstage right now.
01:13Though she'd actually get a chance to resume professional wrestling since leaving WWE,
01:19this promo still serves as a gut-wrenching reminder of this emotional chapter in Paige's life.
01:24New Orleans four years ago is where I debuted and won the Divas Championship.
01:30And four years later, New Orleans is where I want to retire.
01:34So I want to say thank you, every single one of you.
01:43Number 9. Dean Ambrose talks about technicalities.
01:47After the Lunatic Fringe came up short in his WWE title match against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank,
01:53he took some time to share his immediate thoughts.
01:55And I'm from right here, Ohio.
01:59And you people know life ain't always fair.
02:03You can't get a car loan because under technicality, you don't have a good enough credit score.
02:09So now you got to walk to work.
02:11Your children got to walk to school under technicality.
02:14In an emotionally charged speech reminiscent of Dusty Rhodes' Hard Times promo,
02:19Dean talked about life's many technicalities.
02:21He opened up about common challenges people face and about opportunities which need to be seized.
02:27Though he mentioned how hard technicalities can be,
02:30Dean made sure to end the promo on a positive note.
02:32It was about taking what's yours, what you deserve, what you feel, that you earned,
02:38what you know in your heart and your soul that you deserve, that you earned.
02:43It was about just taking it.
02:45Instead of wallowing in self-pity over losing,
02:47he made sure to emphasize that his path to the championship wasn't over.
02:52By doing that, he helped remind us all that we don't need to let our technicalities weigh us down forever.
02:57So I'm gonna fix this leg and I'm gonna stand up on my own two feet again.
03:01And one day, I'm gonna be world heavyweight champion.
03:05And there ain't no paperwork and there ain't no technicalities.
03:08And there ain't no bullcrap that's gonna stop.
03:12Number 8.
03:13Sami Zayn wonders if he might dethrone Roman Reigns.
03:16Fresh off his split from the bloodline,
03:19newly energized Sami Zayn was a thorn in Roman Reigns' side.
03:23And to start the February 13th, 2023 edition of Raw,
03:26Sami delivered an emphatic promo about his title match.
03:29But there was one thing that you said
03:31that has been replaying in my mind over and over and over,
03:37and I can't stop thinking about it.
03:39And it is when you said that it is looking more and more every day
03:44like it's going to be Cody Rhodes versus Sami Zayn at WrestleMania.
03:51The segment was a back and forth with Cody Rhodes
03:53about if Sami had what it took to bring Roman down.
03:57His passion was infectious,
03:58and every time he spoke,
04:00you could feel the sincerity, vulnerability, and doubt in his voice.
04:04If you are asking me if I think I'm capable of becoming
04:08the undisputed universal champion,
04:10yes, I believe that.
04:12If you're asking me if I think I am worthy of being
04:17WrestleMania main event material,
04:20yes, I believe that.
04:22Look, the American Nightmare is undeniably WWE's new poster boy,
04:26but if Cody Rhodes is the face of the company,
04:29Sami Zayn is arguably the heart and soul of it.
04:32Even though he didn't dethrone Roman at the Elimination Chamber,
04:35he proved that he's a force to be reckoned with.
04:38Finish the story! Finish the story! Finish the story!
04:42I intend to finish my story!
04:44You need to finish yours!
04:48Number 7. Daniel Bryan Comes Out of Retirement
04:51When the American Dragon had his wings clipped all the way back in 2016,
04:55the world of professional wrestling lost something special.
04:58It seemed like one of WWE's greatest wrestlers
05:01was going to have to hang up the boots for good.
05:03But as we found out during this 2018 promo,
05:06Daniel Bryan wasn't going to let career-ending injuries destroy his dreams.
05:11You need to fight for your dreams.
05:14That's what Daniel Bryan does, is he fights for his dreams.
05:18So then, when I got depressed, I wasn't just grateful, I decided to fight.
05:30Daniel held back tears as he eventually shared the news
05:33that he could finally wrestle again after previously having retired.
05:37Daniel Bryan's return speech wasn't just a way to announce that he was coming back.
05:41It was a motivational message about never letting go of your dreams,
05:44even when they seem impossible.
05:47Every doctor I've seen has said the same thing, and it is this.
05:53You are cleared.
06:01Number 6. Mark Henry's fake retirement speech
06:05There's just something about wrestlers announcing that they've reached the end of their road
06:08that tugs at our heartstrings.
06:10Even when it turns out to be a straight-up lie,
06:12you can't help but get swept up in the beauty of the segment.
06:15I've been world heavyweight champion.
06:17I've been ECW champion.
06:20I've been the strongest man in the world.
06:25I've had a lot of success.
06:26I mean, nothing like the success that John had,
06:29but I think I've done pretty good for myself.
06:34This was pretty much how Mark Henry's fake retirement promo went.
06:38In 2013, Mark gave a deceptive retirement speech
06:41where he was on the brink of tears at multiple points.
06:44Baby, I'm coming home.
06:48His promo then led to an emotional embrace with John Cena
06:52with the full support of the fans behind both of them.
06:54While it's kind of funny to look back at this knowing it was just a swerve,
06:58you've got to give Mark props for how impactful he came across.
07:01You think it's not easy?
07:06I got a lot left in the tank!
07:09Number 5.
07:11Dolph Ziggler opens up about heartbreak.
07:13Dolph Ziggler might be one of WWE's biggest what-ifs.
07:17Sure, he won a decent amount of championships,
07:19but he also suffered major missteps with the creative direction of his character.
07:23In 2016, during a war of words with The Miz over the Intercontinental title,
07:28Ziggler opened up about his complicated relationship with professional wrestling.
07:32This is what I love, but you know what?
07:34Sometimes things you love don't always love you back.
07:39And you can give, and you can give, and you can give, and you can give,
07:44and you can give, and you can give, and you can give,
07:46and sometimes you get nothing!
07:48Even if you aren't an expert on Dolph or WWE,
07:51you can easily follow what he's saying.
07:53The promo resonates because it's not just about having a match.
07:57It's about having complex connections to the things we love.
08:00Dolph's deeply personal words here helped elevate the IC title
08:03from a mid-card belt to something truly next-level.
08:06I either walk out champion, or I'm done.
08:12Number 4.
08:13Cody Rhodes has a chat with Paul Heyman.
08:15While on the road to WrestleMania 39,
08:18the American Nightmare took a pit stop at the February 6,
08:212023 episode of Raw to talk about his plans.
08:23Unfortunately, his segment was quickly derailed
08:26by Roman Reigns' wise man, Paul Heyman.
08:29Luckily for us, what followed was an absolute spectacle.
08:32You kept your word.
08:34In addition to the money that we sorely needed,
08:39ECW gave my father his confidence back,
08:43and I can never, ever repay you for that.
08:46Thank you very much.
08:48Cody told a deeply moving story to Paul Heyman
08:51about how ECW helped his father out,
08:53and it was so powerful that it drove the wise man to tears.
08:56The promo expertly weaved in the details of Cody's family
09:19with the importance of his title match against Roman.
09:21Simply put, when it comes to it,
09:24Cody Rhodes is one of the best wrestlers on the microphone.
09:27And you're not gonna pay for it, Mr. Heyman.
09:31Your boy, Roman Reigns,
09:34is going to pay for it at WrestleMania
09:40when I take those titles personally.
09:46Before he became the Tribal Chief,
09:54one moment to acknowledge him,
09:56Roman Reigns had a turbulent relationship with the fans,
09:59to say the least.
10:00But while the public's reception to him was rocky,
10:03things changed on October 22, 2018.
10:06In what's arguably one of his most important promos ever,
10:09Roman revealed to the fans that he'd have to take time away
10:12from the company to get treatment for leukemia.
10:14My real name is Joe.
10:20And I've been living with leukemia for 11 years.
10:29And unfortunately, it's back.
10:33It can't be overstated just how big of a bombshell this was.
10:37Roman peeled back the curtain
10:39and let us see a whole different side to him.
10:41In this promo, we didn't see Roman Reigns.
10:43By sharing this incredibly personal information with us,
10:49it allowed fans to better appreciate him
10:51and everything he's done for WWE.
10:53Bray Wyatt made a huge comeback when he returned to WWE in late 2022.
11:10And in his first promo back, he made sure to do things differently.
11:13I don't know if y'all can read this on me, but I am incredibly grateful.
11:20And I'm really, really nervous to be here, but I never thought this would happen.
11:24In a departure from his normal promos,
11:27Bray talked about the personal challenges he faced.
11:30He also took time to express gratitude for the fans who never left his side.
11:33This right here, this is just me, okay?
11:37This is a version of me that I've never got to introduce to you guys before.
11:42This is just me being me, genuine me for the first time.
11:47This was a welcome change from what we've usually come to expect from him
11:51and an incredibly heartfelt declaration of love.
11:53I thought that everything that I've ever done here or otherwise,
11:57I thought it was all meaningless.
11:59Nothing I ever did has mattered to anyone.
12:04And I was wrong.
12:08What makes it stand out so much more, though,
12:10is that this would be one of Bray's final promos
12:12as he sadly passed away in 2023.
12:15Rest in peace, Bray.
12:16We'll miss you forever.
12:17So I just wanted to say thank you.
12:21You all saved my life.
12:25Before we unveil our top pick,
12:27here are a few honorable mentions.
12:30John Cena declares himself for the Elimination Chamber.
12:33John Cena's time may finally be up.
12:35I have built my existence here off of hard work,
12:39loyalty to this company,
12:41and respect for all of its branches.
12:43I will win 17 not for me.
12:48I will win 17 to someday shake the hand of the person who wins 18.
12:53Naomi admits to being Jade Cargill's attacker.
12:55The friendship between Bianca and Naomi seems fractured beyond repair.
12:59Now you gonna be, I did it.
13:03Yeah, I did it.
13:05I did it for you.
13:07I did it for us.
13:09Edge announces his retirement.
13:10The world stood still when the Rated R Superstar was forced to retire.
13:15If you asked me if I'd travel all the roads,
13:18log all the miles,
13:19hop on all the flights,
13:20all the sleepless nights,
13:22all the surgeries,
13:23all of the injuries,
13:24the metal rods in my teeth,
13:25all of it.
13:28If you asked me if I'd do it again,
13:30in a heartbeat.
13:33Jey Uso unleashes on Gunther after he attacked his brother.
13:36In the lead up to Wrestlemania 41,
13:38the ring general got the yeet down.
13:41I'm gonna get you for me.
13:42I'm gonna get you for Jimmy.
13:44I'm gonna get you for my whole damn family.
13:47And I will take the world heavyweights championship.

14:19Number 1.
14:21Eddie Guerrero talks about substance use disorder.
14:24Eddie Guerrero was taken from us far too soon.
14:27The electrifying, thrill-seeking wrestler
14:29captivated fans like none other.
14:32If you need proof,
14:33check out his promo against Brock Lesnar
14:35during the build to No Way Out.
14:37Instead of listing off his strengths,
14:39Eddie rattled off his weaknesses.
14:41More specifically,
14:42his struggles with substance use disorder.
14:43Day by day,
14:45by the grace of God,
14:46I have earned my way
14:50back into this ring, man.
14:54It was an incredibly touching speech
14:56that spoke about how much he lost.
14:58But it also had a silver lining,
15:00making sure to emphasize
15:01that Eddie would do anything
15:03to win the WWE championship.
15:05That's my way
15:06of telling
15:07my family,
15:09I'm sorry.
15:10That's my way
15:11of telling
15:12my kids,
15:13I'm gonna provide
15:14a better way
15:15of life for them.
15:16I'm gonna get the bikes
15:17that they wanted.
15:19I'm gonna give them
15:20a better education.
15:22Suddenly,
15:23the title wasn't just
15:24something shiny
15:25that would look good
15:25around Eddie's waist.
15:27It'd be what he'd need
15:28to give his family
15:29the best life possible.
15:30How could you not get emotional
15:32after hearing this?
15:33And I'll do anything
15:34and run over anybody
15:36that it's gonna take
15:38to get that
15:39around my waist
15:40and get my high
