US-Präsident Donald Trump hat die Wahl seines Landsmanns Robert Francis Prevost zum neuen Papst Leo XIV. als "große Ehre" bezeichnet. Der Vatikan habe bereits angerufen, fügte Trump hinzu und er plane, den Papst zu treffen.
