00:00We are backstage at the 60th annual ACM Awards with the Backstreet Boys.

00:04Oh my gosh, we're back again.

00:06I know, you're back again.

00:07And you're performing on the ACM Awards with Rascal Flatts.

00:10Their song, What Hurts the Most, which is going to be on their Refuel Duets album.

00:14Talk about how this all came about, working with Rascal Flatts.

00:19Yeah, just running into them throughout the years at award shows and different industry functions.

00:25We're fans of their music.

00:27They're a great vocal harmony group.

00:29And they reached out to us and said, hey, this is what we're doing.

00:32What do you think?

00:33You want to jump on a song with us?

00:34And we're like, heck yeah, let's get it.

00:36How fun has it been working with those guys?

00:38Oh, it's great.

00:38We have a new name.

00:39We're the Flat Street Boys.

00:40Yeah.

00:41I love this so much.

00:43You guys are going to close out the show.

00:44This is going to be an incredible moment.

00:47And I feel like, I want to know from you guys, like what other country artists are you excited to see at the show?

00:51Like what have you guys been listening to that you're into?

00:53Man, I listen to all kinds of country.

00:55Yeah?

00:56All the time.

00:57So it's my truck.

00:58I live in Georgia.

00:59So it's just a staple in my household.

01:01Yeah.

01:01How could you not be listening to that?

01:03Of course.

01:04But I mean, I look forward to seeing all the performances because these are the moments that the fans want to see.

01:32You guys recently just announced some more dates at the Sphere.

01:35How excited are you for this residency?

01:38Super excited.

01:38Yeah, it's three more dates.

01:41So that means things are going good.

01:43Yeah.

01:44August 22, 23, and 24.

01:46Wow.

01:47So we're up to 21 shows now, which is amazing.

01:50You know, you build it and you hope they will come.

01:52Yep.

01:53So we're excited.

01:54They're coming.

01:55But yeah, it's the most incredible venue I've ever been in.

02:00Experience to show in.

02:02We got to go see the Eagles a few times there.

02:04Yeah, it's like nothing you've ever seen or experienced.

02:09A hundred and some thousand speakers in the venue.

02:11So most badass PA you've ever listened to music through.

02:15And then you've got this ginormous, you're immersed in.

02:19It's like being immersed in a film and your favorite artists are the soundtrack to it.

02:24It really is incredible.

02:25It's like a planetarium.

02:26Yes, it is.

02:27So I talked to Kenny Chesney about this because he's about to start his residency there.

02:29Yeah, I'm going to go check him out.

02:31That blew my mind is that once they hit download, it takes two months to render that video.

02:36And I was like, that would give me so much anxiety.

02:38Yeah.

02:38It's in 16K.

02:40That is wild.

02:42And I think the servers take up an entire convention hall floor, the servers for the content.

02:48And you guys are just like, I don't think it really has a roof, but if it did, you guys

02:52would be blowing it off.

02:53We're going to try to blow it off.

02:54Such amazing shows.

03:48We failed miserably.

03:52There wasn't enough Advil in the state of Texas to help with my stiff back and knees.

04:00Refueled duets coming out June 6th, right in the middle of CMA Fest.

04:05What was the initial inspiration to do this album of Collabs?

04:09I think to make more money.

04:10Oh, obviously.

04:12No.

04:13Benefit of financial?

04:14It's a long story, but when we were going to do the farewell tour in 2020, we figured

04:20the best way to close that out was to revisit some of our biggest hits and invite some friends

04:24that had either opened for us or were friends of ours.

04:27And so the concept started there, and then the pandemic shut everything down, so it turned

04:32into more of just a labor of love, trying to make some music with some of our friends.

04:36And it's been really cool to revisit those hits and hear their takes on them.

04:41So that's how it was born.

04:42Backstreet was the very first people that we reached out to to do it.

04:47That's very cool.

04:48We cut that track in 2019.

04:49That is insane that that has been in the works for this long.

04:55Stop it.

04:55Okay, so this is coming out.

04:57You've got the single with the JoBros.

04:59How fun has it been to work with those guys?

05:02I mean...

05:03Again, we've known them for a long time.

05:04We used to be signed to Disney.

05:06We used to change Nick's diapers.

05:07Gosh, yeah.

05:08Back in the day.

05:10Five years ago?

05:11Yeah.

05:11Yeah, five years ago.

05:14And we're running out of boy bands to do things with.

05:17Oh, yeah.

05:18You really have tapped all of them.

05:19I mean, we have.

05:23What song on here are you most excited for everyone to hear on this project?

05:27I mean, I know you love all of them, but what do you think is going to be the most surprising

05:31or the most different arrangement?

05:32I think the Brandon Lake collaboration.

05:37You know, a lot of people may not know who he is.

05:39Oh, no.

05:39Brandon Lake is huge, man.

05:42He did Stand with us, and it's really great.

05:44I'm very excited to hear that.

05:45I was talking to Jelly Roll about him in an interview, and that video has like a million

05:50comments every day.

05:52People love Brandon Lake.

05:53And he's such a good man, you know?

05:54Yes.

05:55His heart comes through his music.
