Transcript
00:00So we're in Heathace with a lovely neighbourhood so we're here with Carys. Carys where are we standing outside of?
00:08This is a community interest company, it's Heathace Community Coffee Shop.
00:13We specialise in helping people with mental health and things like that. We do mental health nights.
00:18That's fantastic. So you can come in, you can get a coffee, obviously you've got events on as well.
00:21We've got the anniversary for the VU Day as well which is really nice.
00:25So what's it like owning a cafe in this community?
00:30Oh it's amazing, everyone here is so lovely. They are honestly some of the nicest people you're having.
00:36I don't actually think I can say that we have bad experience with anyone from here.
00:41I'm Dan, this is Chocolate Treasures.
00:44How long have you been on the High Street for now?
00:46Five years, we've been on the High Street for now.
00:50So what do you offer?
00:52So we are Luxury Belgian Chocolate, we're rolled ice cream, we are bubble waffles, we're hot chocolates, fudge, all sorts of goodies.
01:02That's brilliant. So if I ask loads of people on the High Street, you're pretty much one of the big ones.
01:07Everyone loves you. I can imagine this place getting packed in the summer.
01:10It does get very, very busy.
01:12And you're one of the few people to meet the king as well.
01:15Absolutely. Many years ago, he was just a prince then.
01:19He was just a prince then, he was a king there.
01:21So yeah, we're down here for the lovely neighbourhood then.
01:24So if you could pick one thing that you would like, well one thing that you like about the area, what is that thing?
01:30Most people have probably already said this, but it is the people, as I'm sure everybody has already said.
01:35But the fact that you can walk past, somebody can walk past, they'll poke their head in.
01:39There's no obligation to buy anything for people to just come in and have a chat with us.
01:42And that's what it's all about.
01:44We enjoy that interaction that the community gets behind us.
01:48And then obviously we try and give back as much as we can as well.
01:51Well, I think it's because there's a bit of everything here, really.
01:55I use as much as I can here, buy when I can.
01:59And really it's a lot of people come back to me that actually live in Heath Hines as well.
02:07So that's good.
02:08So here with Georgia, you've lived here four or five years.
02:11So what do you think is the, what do you think, if you choose one thing, what do you think is the best part about the area?
02:17It's peaceful.
02:18Peaceful.
