Poonch (J&K), May 08 (ANI): 13 civilians lost their lives in Poonch due to ceasefire violations by Pakistan along LoC, informed External Affairs Ministry. A total of 59 people have sustained injuries in these violations, 44 of them in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistani shelling along the LoC was in retaliation for India’s May 7 ‘Operation Sindoor’ which targeted 9 terror camps in Pak and PoK. Pakistan has been resorting to unprovoked small arms ceasefire since the night of April 25-26. After ‘Operation Sindoor’, Pak Army continued series of ceasefire violations by targeting civilian areas in the border areas of J&K . Officials said the shelling caused panic among villagers and damaged several houses. Shelling by Pakistan damaged civilian infrastructure, shattered window panes and cracked walls. Speaking to ANI, villagers said the shelling badly damaged homes, forcing families and livestock to flee. “A lot of damaged has happened…” said a villager while speaking with ANI about the horror they experienced.
