Faithful unfazed as black smoke signals no new Pope as Conclave opens

Many faithful gathered in St. Peter's Square seemed unsurprised to witness black smoke on first day of Conclave to elect a new pope.  The smoke poured out of the Sistine Chapel chimney on Wednesday, signaling that no pope had been elected as 133 cardinals opened the secretive, centuries-old ritual to choose a new leader of the Catholic Church.

00:30At the last conclave, the smoke appeared around 7.30 in the evening.

00:35This was an hour and a half later.
