Transcript
00:00I've always been a fan of the dark side.
00:16The idea of the Imperial perspective is you never really understand who they are as people, right?
00:20Or how the organization works.
00:23How can we distill that and how can we make a story around that?
00:30The story of Battlefront II is absolutely an essential story.
00:36What happened after Return of the Jedi?
00:39What happened to the galaxy?
00:40What happened to the Empire without an Emperor?
00:42What it might feel like to be in this galaxy is it starts to break apart.
00:47What's really exciting about this story is that we're going to see it from the point of view of a character like Iden.
00:52So we're going to see it from this Imperial point of view.
00:55Inferno Squad is a black ops team that most people don't even know exists.
01:02We weren't expecting special forces.
01:03We happen to be on Endor when the second Death Star explodes.
01:11Iden is presented with an extreme challenge.
01:14The destruction of the Death Star II and the death of the Emperor.
01:17What sort of choices would somebody in that situation have to make about who they are and what the galaxy was going to become?
01:23And it's interesting.
01:24Does that mean, now that the Empire has fallen, that they're the underdogs?
01:31Iden is a tried and true and through and through Imperial.
01:35She's somebody who grew up on a planet called Vardavs.
01:37She was very quickly put into a military camp for children.
01:42She has spent her whole life building up to this moment to be commander of Inferno Squad.
01:47Mothrae has informed the Admiral that Operation Syndicate can proceed as planned.
01:50Hask is the most zealous of them all, I would say.
01:53He's the most interested and invested in how far the Empire is willing to go.
01:58He was an orphan, so he needed something to latch onto.
02:01Empire is peace and justice and order.
02:04Even when people are faltering around him, he pushes forward and says, no, the Empire is the way.
02:09I'm picking up distress calls, too many to count.
02:12Del has seen more of the galaxy than most people in the Empire.
02:15He actually grew up on Coruscant during the time of the Jedi.
02:18He brings a lot of humor.
02:21Him and Iden have a bit of a banter, have a bit of a laugh.
02:27Family is a really important element in Star Wars.
02:29And one of the things that we wanted to make sure we captured is the dynamic between Garak Versio and his daughter Iden Versio.
02:36This is the catalyst for Iden, where she learns the future of the Empire and she's elevated to a point by her father.
02:41Here are next assignments.
02:42They are unusual.
02:44She's my daughter.
02:46This is all I have.
02:47I do need for her to understand why I'm going to do what I'm going to do.
02:53Everything in Star Wars is connected.
02:55And part of our job is to make sure that the games we're making do connect back into that larger universe.
03:03But we're now able to use this game in Battlefront 2 as a resource to take this information into future development projects.
03:12Hope cannot save them!
03:14I think all those gamers out there are going to just love it.
03:20This is the culmination of all the things that are good in the world.
03:24Video games, Star Wars, and a team of people that are willing to take the time to do the work.
03:30We have to take risks.
03:31We have to be bold.
03:32We have to push everyone's boundaries and leave a good footprint behind.
03:37We have to be bold.
