00:04Growing up, I thought my mom was the most beautiful girl in the world.

00:08She was just 18 when she had me.

00:11And even when I was little, I could tell she cast a spell on everyone around her.

00:16She always looked picture perfect and heads would turn at the sound of her lovely laugh.

00:21And to top that, she was a crazy talented singer and musician.

00:25She'd let me play on the piano as she practiced her songs.

00:28And when I was three, mom released her first album and it broke records.

00:34She shot to stardom overnight and her lives were transformed.

00:38And because of mom, I was famous too.

00:41We'd be photographed every time we stepped out and people thought we were the cutest pair.

00:46Mom and I were super close and I had some of her talent.

00:49So it was no surprise that I wanted to be a famous singer one day, just like her.

00:54But then suddenly, everything changed.

00:56I was in seventh grade when I started noticing that my hair was falling out, fast.

01:01This one time when I was brushing my hair, a huge clump fell out and I screamed.

01:06My parents rushed me to the doctor and we found out I had alopecia.

01:11I was gonna be bald and there was no way to stop it.

07:40Chris looked mad but before he could reply, mom stepped onto the stage.

07:46Many of you may not know that Britney is a super talented singer herself.

07:51So, I wanted you to cheer her on as she joins me for a duet.

07:55The last thing I wanted to do was sing in front of these people right next to mom.

07:59But she left me no choice.

08:01I was super nervous and I could tell my voice was off key.

08:05Mom kept nodding at me encouragingly but I just couldn't go on.

08:09As I was leaving, I suddenly tripped over my dress.

08:12Mom caught me before I fell flat on my face.

08:14But then I realized my wig had come off.

08:18Everybody was staring at me in shock and I burst into tears and ran away with mom behind me.

08:30I'm so sick of you telling me every other minute that I'm amazing and beautiful.

09:06I was certain I wouldn't be going back to school.

09:09But after the weekend, I decided I wasn't hiding.

09:17But to my surprise, I was met with smiles and greetings when I entered the class.

09:21One girl invited me to sit with them for lunch while another whispered,

12:01And by the next morning, she had everything packed and we left.

12:05Mom and I grew close again.

12:07And she featured a duet with me on her next album,

12:09which was number one on the music charts for weeks.

12:13And I decided that I wanted to use my fame for something good.

12:17So I openly talked about my alopecia on Insta.

12:20I got such an outpouring of love and messages from people going through the same thing.

12:25And it felt amazing that I could make others feel less alone.

12:30Years went by and life was good until I joined college.

12:34Because on the very first day,

12:36someone playing with a football bumped into me in the hallway.

12:38And I looked up to see it was Chris.

12:44I've thought of you every day.

12:46Because I never thought of you after I left.

12:49I was too busy living my best life.
