Britain's King Charles, Queen Camilla unveil new coronation portraits   The official coronation portraits of Britain’s King Charles and Queen Camilla were unveiled on Tuesday, May 6, at the National Gallery in London.   Tuesday marks two years since Charles’ coronation, Britain's biggest ceremonial event for seven decades.   Artist Peter Kuhfeld said he envisioned the throne room at St. James’s Palace as the ideal location for the king's portrait, adding that he prayed for sun and “eventually we got it on one day.”   The artist who painted the queen's portrait, Paul Benney, said he chatted a lot with the queen during the process. 01:00And once I saw the throne room, St. James's, and I thought, well, if I can get sunlight

01:19in here, you know, it'd be absolutely stunning, all the rich colours.

01:26So we prayed for some, and eventually we got it on one day.

01:42Well, no, he always had the crown with him, but I needed to on its own, you know, because

01:51it's very singular, that aspect of the painting, because you never get to see the crown in

01:56natural light.

01:58You only ever see it in artificial light, in the tower.

02:04So it is, in that sense, it's unique.

02:07Well, my work's already done over the last year, over a year.

02:16In fact, the whole process took about two years.

02:20And I did what I could in that time, and I did probably more than I've been able to do

02:27in many other big commissions.

02:31Just because I was given the space, the time, and Clarence House was where I was allowed to

02:37paint.

02:38So, and that's very quiet there.

02:40And often when King and Queen aren't there, I'm just allowed to use it whenever I wanted.

02:45So, yeah, it was wonderful.

02:47I like to talk when I'm painting.

02:59I've managed to develop that skill over the years of being able to do two things at once,

03:03unusually for a man, apparently.

03:07And so we had a lot of talk and chat and stories which we could tell each other.

03:14Actually, at times when I would leave and I would, I'm not kidding, I would actually

03:19be holding my tummy from laughing so much.
