00:00You know, I don't know how you give an MVP to anybody else outside of Shohei Ohtani

00:04if he pitches this season.

00:05Like, to me, I'll never get that one.

00:07He's still currently the favorite at plus 240,

00:09but look at the start that Pete Alonzo has gotten off to at the Mets.

00:13I think you've got to strongly consider that.

00:14Kyle Tucker, what a difference he has made for the Cubs.

00:16They've been fantastic.

00:18Corbin Carroll is the guy that we saw two years ago.

00:21So, you know, sort of a wide-open field, I think, Matt, if Ohtani doesn't pitch.

00:26But, I mean, as long as I've been watching baseball,

00:28I mean, if the guy pitches and hits, you have to give him this award.

00:31No one else should win.

00:33They slowed, I think, his progress down here.

00:35They were supposed to start starting games in May.

00:37I don't see that happening at the moment.

00:40Yeah, I think it's definitely going to be later in the year if he does, in fact, pitch.

00:44From what I heard earlier, and I'm sure you heard it too,

00:47there was just talk of, hey, we just want to make sure he's good for the postseason,

00:51you know, kind of ramp him up for that so he can be really going.

00:54So, yeah, I mean, I'm with you on the whole idea of if a guy's pitching and pitching well

00:59and he's hitting at the level Shohei Ohtani hits, he's got to be MVP.

01:03But we don't know if that's going to happen for sure.

01:06And if he's just a hitter, and I'll put that sort of in air quotes,

01:09then, yeah, it opens the door for some other people to get in there.

01:13And I think there are a lot of worthy candidates in the NL.

01:16And, you know, what Alonzo's done so far, just you look at it every day and think,

01:20all right, well, he's going to slow down here soon, right?

01:22It's really going to start slowing down.

01:24Well, we're over a month in, it's not really slowing down.

01:28But, you know, I don't know if he offers a ton of value right now,

01:31given how hot he started, certainly some, but not as much maybe as people would like.

01:36You know, I'm a fan of Kyle Tucker.

01:38I just think he's got that overall well-rounded game.

01:41The numbers are going to be there.

01:42He's playing on a really good offensive team.

01:44There's going to be the opportunity for some wild moments, you know,

01:47playing where he's playing.

01:48And so I think he's in a good position, too,

01:51to really challenge Ohtani when it's all said and done.

01:53And so I think he's going to be there.
