JP and Tobi believe the Capitals are getting disrespected by oddsmakers in the second round series against the Hurricanes.

00:00We are all fired up for this game, for the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

00:04I do think, I think the winner of this gets to the cup final.

00:10I think the winner of this wins the East.

00:12I just think it's so weird that Carolina's a good hockey team.

00:16There's no question about it.

00:17I'm not trying to take anything away from them, but it's weird to me that the top two

00:20teams in the regular season are seventh and eighth in cup odds of the eight teams left.

00:25And it's weird to me that Carolina is pretty comfortably favored to win this series.

00:30Not to say that they're a bad team, but the Capitals were the second best team in hockey

00:34this year.

00:35And when they're playing their best, I think they're the best team in hockey.

00:38It's just odd to me that it seems like a lot of the analytics and a lot of these things

00:43favor the Hurricanes.

00:46When, if you watch the Capitals this year, they can play any style.

00:49Nate kind of laid this out.

00:50You need to play a two to one game.

00:52They can do that.

00:52You want to play six to five.

00:54They can do that.

00:55And I think they might have the better goaltender in this series with Logan Thompson, the way

00:59that he finished against the Canadians.

01:01And I think they're the better team overall.

01:03I'm just surprised that Carolina's favored.

01:06Not to say that it won't be a really good series.

01:08I'm obviously going to pick the Capitals, but I'm a little surprised by how many people

01:12are on the Canes.

01:14Yeah.

01:14I mean, I think a lot of, I think a lot of that is based on how things kind of finished

01:20late, late in the regular season.

01:24And dude, I think there's just a lot of haters, especially in like the hockey influencer world,

01:32guys that just don't love Ovi and think this team is still only Ovi.

01:38And I think they're just incorrect.

01:41Um, and I think that has a real negative impact kind of on the viewpoint of Washington, but

01:52I also don't care.

01:53Like, I'm cool with it.

01:55Um, I mean, if you want to count us as the underdogs, feel free.

01:58Like, I don't care at all.

01:59I just, I think it's interesting that you look at this team and I actually feel pretty

02:03good going into this series.

02:04Like I'm not guaranteeing a win, but I feel pretty good going into this series, knowing

02:08that you've got guys like, look at the series that Dylan Strome had.

02:11And I think the, the thing that gives me the most confidence is going into game one of

02:17the Canadian series.

02:18We were talking about, do you play LT?

02:19Do you stick with Lindgren?

02:21You know, it'd been a little bit of time for LT and he hadn't played in a while, but he

02:25got back in there.

02:26And then he looked like the LT that we'd seen before the four nations where he was one of

02:30the best goaltenders in hockey versus after when he was a little more average.

02:33And I think if he's going to be, I think he's the difference.

02:36Like we, we saw when they won an 18, you get the hot goalie on your side for once and all

02:40of a sudden you can go hoist the cup.

02:41I think they might have the hot goalie on this side with Logan Thompson.
