What do a scientist, drag queens, a doctor, content creators, a visual artist, athletes, a photographer, musicians, a fashion stylist, actors, an entrepreneur, a ballerina, and a jewelry designer have in common? They share the title of queen: a woman who embraces her truest self and finds strength and sisterhood in her fellow queens. For one of Preview’s biggest covers for the year, 24 remarkable women from different backgrounds came together to celebrate what it means to be queens who win—together. 00:00Being a queen for me is having the power to break down buyers and open up opportunities for others.

00:20Creams Up gathered 20 plus queens for this campaign and to be surrounded by all of these women,

00:27you know, empowered women, lifting each other up, I think it's such a milestone for me.

00:33Pretty much growing up, I was a bit of a rebel, so I'm not one to follow trends.

00:38And a lot of people know this, but I like going against the tide.

00:41I guess I would say I would just follow what my heart wants.

00:45My definition of success evolves as we grow.

00:48Before, my definition of success used to be doing the projects that I do, getting validation from everyone,

00:55and inspiring a lot of people.

00:58But now, my definition of success is pretty simple.

01:02It's waking up with a purpose and ending my day with a happy heart, feeling fulfilled.

01:09And what matters to me the most now is the validation I get from within, from myself.

01:15Because at the end of the day, it's my life, it's my happiness, and it's my passion.

01:21Being around other queens in this campaign feels very empowering and very inspiring.

01:27Because just this energy of all these successful women and their craft,

01:32it feels like I have that sense of belongingness.

01:36Sisterhood is the foundation of the drag community.

01:40We inspire each other creatively, and sometimes we cheer for each other, and yeah, push each other to be great.

01:48My definition of being a queen is someone who genuinely loves to see other people succeed in life,

01:56and someone that sees the beauty in herself and other people as well,

02:00and she inspires others to step up and show who they really are.

02:07If I could pass one queen behavior, it would be bravery.

02:10Because no matter what, you'll really go through hard times, struggles, but if you go through it headstrong,

02:15you'll come out the other side being stronger, wiser, and an improved version of yourself.

02:20Being brave enough to be yourself in this world full of discrimination takes big, big courage.

02:27That's why I'm so proud of the women who step into this journey of transitioning,

02:33even though they know how many of them are.

02:37I think it's so important to look at other women as inspiration.

02:40It's always so empowering to be surrounded by strong women,

02:44and it's really something that pushes me to be better.

02:48It empowers me as well. There's really space for all of us.

02:51I believe that words have power, and you know, we all have ugly thoughts.

02:56The choice to let that come out, let that affect another person's day,

03:00is always your choice to make.

03:02So, be kind to yourself, so that you can be kind to other people.

03:07Don't forget to dream big. Don't forget to also have fun.

03:12You might have some stress, some anxieties in this industry.

03:16You might be new, but don't forget that you know yourself more than other people.

03:22So, have fun being big.

03:32Drag revolves around self-expression, what you feel inside, what you think,

03:37all of your thoughts, all of your feelings.

03:40We express it through our performances, through our looks, even through our hair.

03:45I've had my bangs since I was two years old, so I feel like it's sort of my uniform already.

03:50I feel most myself when I know what my hair looks like.

03:55Even though I don't do anything special, like I try to respect what it is,

03:59and what it does for my image as a whole.

04:02Hair for me is like an accessory.

04:04So, I like to style it in a way that it will match the energy that I want to project that day.

04:09So, when I want to look like sleek or clean, I put it in a sleek bun.

04:14But when I want to look effortless and laid back and comfortable, I just let it down.

04:20I view my hair as a reflection of both my roots and my rise.

04:25It's a deeply symbolic element of identity, heritage, and resistance.

04:30In essence, my hair is not just about the strands.

04:33It's a timeline. It's my crown.

04:35My hair is where I carry my softness and strength all at once.

04:39I think our hair is really important when it comes to bringing out confidence.

04:43It helps me become a little bit more confident when I'm, let's say, meeting people or doing public events or speaking events.

04:50When I feel like my hair is good, I feel really confident.

04:54I think taking care of my hair makes me feel empowered and confident.

04:59Just like how I take care of my body, I think it's also important to take care of myself, including my hair.

05:06My body and my hair is a reflection of my hard work, dedication, and confidence.

05:13By taking care of my hair, I'm able to empower myself.

05:18Taking care of my hair is like self-care. It's giving me the boost to increase my self-esteem.

05:24So as a professional, I make sure to take care of my hair because this is me. This is professionalism.

05:29It empowers me in my everyday work.

05:32It's really important to know the condition of your hair and choosing the right products for your hair.

05:36I love to do regular treatments in the shower once a week

05:39to keep my hair refreshed after all the products being used and the spotlight making it dry.

05:44And also just using, of course, cream silk conditioner every wash.

05:49When it comes to haircare, sometimes you just have to keep it simple.

05:53Stick to the brands you trust. Stick to what works for you the most.

05:56It's like love sometimes. You just have to work with what you trust the most.

06:01And I know sometimes it's very tempting to try out a lot of different things, but do what works for you.

06:07So just like how I train my body, I make sure I give the same dedication to my hair.

06:12And with the help of cream silk, it keeps my hair strong and healthy and be able to withstand the active lifestyle I have.

06:20To be honest, as long as my hair looks good, I feel good and automatically I'm ten times more confident.

06:28I don't even need to put on makeup. As long as my hair is good, we're all good.
