Trent Alexander-Arnold: the end of his Liverpool love story

Real Madrid-linked Trent Alexander-Arnold has announced his decision to leave Liverpool.

00:02Fantastic player from the first day, outstanding talent,

00:07turned into an outstanding, world-class football player.

00:19He is one of these stories which not a lot of clubs can really write,

00:24but he is one of the people people will talk about in 20, 30 and 40 years, 100 percent,

00:30and that's really nice for a boy from West Derby,

00:33it's probably the best you can achieve in life.

00:35He's not signed and done yet, but obviously it looks likely,

00:39but obviously he's a world-class player and he's got plenty of years in front of him.

00:43Trent can still improve, I think I saw a bit of improvement already this season,

00:47so these players are top of the world, so there's not a lot of room for improvement anymore,

00:51but there's always a bit of improvement and especially defensively,

00:56Trent, in my opinion, has made a step up this season.

01:00He's a Liverpool player, he's born in Liverpool, he's what Liverpool means.

01:06I think it's really important to keep the best players and Trent is one of them.

01:11I'm a massive fan of Trent, he's a fantastic footballer,

01:15you know, his ability to hit a pass, his range of passing,

01:19you know, his assists, you know, his crossing ability to make goals,

01:23and he's a player who's wonderful at taking free kicks, so he's a goal threat as well.

01:27I'm not going to win a lot of fans over for this, but I think Trent's done amazing for what

01:33he's achieved at Liverpool. To be able to virtually win everything possible is phenomenal.

01:39Now he wants a new challenge. I think he's done enough to be able to choose his home destiny.

01:46I think everybody saw how great of a first half of the season he had,

01:50how much he is here, how much he wants to win here.

01:54I see him on the training ground every day working his off, so he's fully committed to us.

02:02I'm sure Jude will help him settle in, I'm sure the club and everyone around him will help him

02:06settle in if the move goes ahead. But look, you know, good players adapt pretty quick,

02:11so if it goes ahead then I have no doubt that he'll settle in and enjoy it.
