Claiming an early victory in Goldstein.
00:07
Zoe Daniel declaring a teal triumph.
00:10
It's been a hard campaign team.
00:14
But in Goldstein, hope wins.
00:19
But the revelry was short lived as the vote tightened
00:22
and Liberal Tim Wilson also sniffed a win.
00:25
Today both were waiting for the result to firm up.
00:28
Ms Daniel's camp conceding it could be days before the winner's known.
00:33
At the nearby teal contest in Koo Yong,
00:36
the celebrations were on politically firmer ground.
00:39
I just came so close to falling off the back of the stage.
00:43
Monique Ryan claiming a win over Liberal Amelia Hamer
00:46
following what was a muddy campaign.
00:48
Despite the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
00:51
and this band of brothers has overcome the brethren.
00:55
This morning the Ryan campaign pack down was already in full swing.
01:00
I haven't heard from Amelia Hamer yet.
01:02
The result has not yet been confirmed.
01:04
So I think it's entirely reasonable that I haven't heard from her as yet.
01:07
Another independent contest still open is Flinders.
01:10
Ben Smith trails Liberal Zoe Mackenzie by a few thousand votes.
01:14
We're cautious and confident and hopeful.
01:18
We'll be not celebrating any time soon until the AEC really gives us that confirmation.
01:23
Climate 200 poured millions of dollars into this year's election,
01:27
contributing more than half a million dollars to Zoe Daniel's campaign
01:30
and an unknown amount to both Monique Ryan and Ben Smith.
01:34
But as the core flutes come down and the counting continues,
01:37
the influence independence will have in the new parliament
01:40
may be weakened by Labor's success.
01:43
There's a couple people who have seen it at the end.
01:45
See you again.
01:46
Why did you go up with a set of intentions?
01:48
No.
01:49
I don't think so.
01:50
I don't think so.
01:51
The people who have been on the end.
01:52
I think there's an interesting thing to do now but there's something in my life.
01:54
I agree.
01:56
I agree.
