00:00yourself which ward you represent which party to represent I'm an independent
00:09and I'm currently the councillor for billing and rectify with the new
00:15boundary changes I'm standing in the billing ward as a candidate as I say at the beginning of the
00:22count it looked really good for me I think the poster vote will come out quite handsomely out of that now
00:31the polling station vote has been counted it really does look like it's going to be too
00:39with myself finishing third and my colleague James from the Conservative group will finish fourth
00:47would that mean you would just miss out then how many councillors for the billing I don't know by
00:51how many but I think it's significant enough for me to admit defeat I'm very sad because I've really
01:00enjoyed serving the ward for the last four years and I think I'm a different unique councillor who's
01:09very passionate about what he does I think people have had the opportunity to read the lead clip
01:16I've engaged on the doorstep it seemed very positive but you know people want to make
01:24they're disappointed with politics at the moment I think they want to make a statement and I think
01:29that they they are today absolutely because it's not just my ward but I think myself James and Keith
01:35have served that ward really really well I don't think we could have done any more
01:40as I say I feel really gutted I was always going to be gutted because I do it for the right reasons
01:47I'm passionate about what I do and I have done and I want to continue for another four years
01:53and what are your thoughts about reform taking your place then for the next four years
01:58that's what my constituents want I respect that my personal feelings if they're going to do what
02:07they say they're going to do I don't believe that they can because there's processes that they have
02:13to follow in the law and legislation but if they make some form of difference and we do need it we do
02:21need some form of change we've promised it from from the new government the one that went out the
02:26conservatives you know people are disappointed I'm disappointed with general politics absolutely
02:34I just felt me being an independent I best felt my best felt I served my constituents by being
02:43independent and I think I've served well and it proves that with the amount that's that's come out
02:49and voted for me in this in this election so like I say I'm very disappointed I think you can feel
02:57that in your voice I should go away today and see what the future holds for me with regards to
03:03politics I most definitely will because I do care still about my world I most definitely will with
03:09the new councillors help offer help if they want to because obviously I am aware of what the area needs
03:19what the issues are there and there's some case work that's still in the village so yeah I can help in any way I will do
03:28A final message for your for the residents in Billingwood?
03:31I'd just like to say thank you to everybody that came out yesterday and support this and and thank you
03:37for the personal messages I've read over the last few weeks yeah it's been amazing they you all are
