00:14Election of a County Councillor for Crediton on Thursday 1st May 2025.

00:21I, Stephen Walford, being the Deputy Returning Officer at the above election,

00:25to hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded for each candidate at the said election is as follows.

00:34Beasley, Charles Errington, Reform UK, 869.

00:41Kearney, James, Liberal Democrats, 1,259.

00:48Howie, Angus, the Conservative Party candidate, 602.

00:53Mitchell, Wesley, Heritage Party, Keep Our Countryside Green, 52.

01:02Ricky, Robert Harper, Green Party, 333.

01:09Vincent, Paul Michael, Labour Party, 423.

01:15There were five rejected ballot papers.

01:20The turnout was 33.2%.

01:23And I do hereby declare that James Kearney is duly elected.

01:28I would first like to thank everybody here at the county

01:39for the way that it was conducted and all the other candidates who took part in this election.

01:46We had a really good, clean contest where everybody spoke the truth and acted in very good honour as well.

01:57I would also like to say many thanks to Frank Lech,

02:02who was the standing candidate at this division.

02:11I believe that I have benefited of his many hard years of work and diligence in working for the community.
