00:01Instead of potentially dying that night
00:04because my boat's hold and it's sinking below me
00:08I might die in the next five minutes.
00:14My name's Lisa.
00:17I aim to be the first female to sail non-stop, solo and unassisted around Antarctica.
00:23I think if anyone knew how tough it would be, you probably wouldn't do it.
00:27She's taking that massive yacht, handling it on her own.
00:32I really thought she was crazy.
00:38Any adventurer who heads off solo in a small yacht has a chance of losing their lives.
00:45My heart stopped for a second.
00:47One thing may go wrong and then three things go wrong.
00:57Three in the morning, I get this phone call.
01:04There's a situation and the mast came down.
01:10Potentially the boat could sink.
01:13I realised the only way I could save the boat
01:17was to climb outside the safety rail.
01:21But to go out there meant that I had such a huge chance of not coming back.
01:26I thought, well, this is where she's got to give up, this is where she's got to stop.
01:35But it didn't happen.
01:37There was plenty of people telling her, you're not going to make it.
01:40I'm looking at one hell of a storm in the most dangerous isolated place in the world.
