00:03So here's one of the other things I wanted to talk about tonight.

00:07And to hide it.

00:09So look, some people are describing what's been happening in recent months as absolute chaos.

00:18And of course I understand why.

00:21And it's certainly true of those tariffs.

00:24Tariffs that, as I predicted, are clearly inclining a recession.

00:30But friends, please let us not be duped into thinking everything is chaos.

00:41I know it may feel that way.

00:45But understand, what we are in fact witnessing is a high-velocity event.

00:54Where a vessel is being used for the swift implementation of an agenda that has been decades in the making.

01:07An agenda to slash public education.

01:15An agenda to shrink government and then privatize its services.

01:19All while giving tax breaks to the wealthiest among us.

01:26By the way, an agenda that is not lowering costs.

01:34Not making life more affordable.

01:38And not what they promised.

01:41It's an agenda, a narrow, self-serving vision of America.

01:52Where they punish truth-tellers.

01:59Favor loyalists.

02:03Cast in on their power.

02:06And leave everyone to fend for themselves.

02:10All while abandoning allies and retreating from the world.

02:15And folks, what we are experiencing right now is exactly what they envision for America.

02:29Right now, we are living in their vision for America.

02:36We are living in a moment when the checks and balances upon which we have historically relied have begun to buckle.

02:54And we here know that when the checks and balances ultimately collapse,

03:00if Congress fails to do its part,

03:05or if the courts fail to do their part,

03:09or if both do their part,

03:12but the President defies them anyway,

03:17well, friends, that is called a constitutional crisis.

03:21And that is a crisis

03:24that will eventually impact everyone.

03:30Because it could mean that the rules that protect our fundamental rights and freedoms,

03:36that ensure each of us has a say about how our government works,

03:44will no longer matter.

03:46And if that happens,

03:50the one check,

03:53the one balance,

03:55the one power

03:57that must not fail

04:00is the voice of the people.

04:04And look,

04:21what's going to guide us through this moment.
