What history reveals about presidents with rocky market starts

00:07only Richard Nixon's 9.9 percent decline. And historically, whenever the first 100 days

00:14return has been below average, which was around 3 percent, then for the full year,

00:22the market actually posted an average decline with, from a party perspective, a nearly 10 percent

00:31decline for Republican presidents. We saw big declines for Eisenhower, for Nixon, for Bush 43.

00:40So history would essentially say we have to hold on to our hats for 2025. But I think that because

00:47this is more of a manufactured correction, because of the trade war, that should the U.S. decide to

00:55back off on some of its trade demands, that the risk is probably more to the upside than to the downside.
