This step-by-step tutorial will show you how to crop an image into a circular shape using the free photo editor GIMP.

00:00How to crop an image into a circle in GIMP
00:04Click Layer, go to Transparency and select Add Alpha Channel
00:10Click Tools, go to Selection Tools and select Ellipse Select
00:17Make a circular selection
00:20Use the Fixed Aspect Ratio option and set an aspect ratio of 1 to 1
00:27You can enter or select a width and height
00:33Drag the circular selection to the desired position
00:38Click Select and select Invert
00:43Click Edit and select Clear
00:50Click Image and select Zealous Crop
00:57Export the image and ensure it has a .png file extension
