Akhnoor (J&K), April 30, 2025 (ANI): Farmers in the last villages of Akhnoor's Chhamb sector have begun harvesting wheat earlier than usual this year. They say the decision was made in light of Pakistan’s recent cowardly act in Pahalgam and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong warning to Pakistan. Prioritizing their safety, the farmers decided to harvest their crops early.According to the villagers, although the crops had not fully ripened, the threat posed by Pakistan's hostile activities prompted them to bring in harvesting machines and begin cutting the crop rapidly. Farmers described Pakistan as a cowardly nation that could commit such acts at any time along the border, and said they did not want to risk their hard-earned produce.Agricultural labourers and farmers are working day and night in the fields. Meanwhile, the farmers have appealed to the Government to reclaim the Chhamb region in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), as well as other Indian territories under Pakistan’s control, so they can once again cultivate their ancestral lands.
