00:00The Trump presidency and I think it has been a very historic 100 days and in my
00:06view you could be described as promises made and promises kept and if you look
00:11right across the board all the things the president campaigned on said he was
00:15going to do he is following through on those and chief among those is what's
00:19happening at our southern border the open borders policy that had been
00:24pursued by the Biden administration it led to all kinds of chaos at our southern
00:28border lots of dangerous elements coming into the United States and about if you
00:33can believe this 12,000 or so people per day coming across our southern border
00:39illegally 12,000 change of administration President Trump takes office that number
00:45plummets from 12,000 down to 230 a day that's what we're looking at right now
00:52and if you look at a year ago where we were January February March April and
00:56those numbers it's just as I described it it's about 94 95 percent drop in in one
01:02year thanks to leadership of President Trump and so as we think about what we
01:07need to do to support those efforts obviously we are involved as you all
01:11know in a process up here we first step was budget reckon our budget resolution
01:15which passed the House and Senate before the Easter break and now we're in the
01:19midst of the reconciliation bill which is where we make law and we intend in doing
01:23that to ensure that the president and his team have the resources they need to
01:27continue keeping our southern border secure I think the American people made
01:32it very clear what they voted for last November and obviously they are
01:36interested in making sure that we have good strong military security that we have
01:41good strong border security and that we have good strong economic security in
01:45those in this country and those are the things that this Republican Congress this
01:50Republican Senate are committed to getting done we're going to continue in the
01:53next hundred days to do what we've been doing in the last hundred days and that
01:57is delivering on the commitments and on the agenda that the American people wants
02:03to see want to see happen and to work with the president and his team and our
02:07colleagues and counterparts in the House of Representatives to see those
02:11things be made a reality senator Brasso
