00:00Hey y'all, the Honda CR-V is updated for 2026 and it's got a few small but kind of important
00:16upgrades. The big one that a lot of people are going to be excited about is that wireless Car
00:20Play in Android Auto is now standard and you even get a standard wireless charger to keep your phone
00:26juiced up while you're using it. Plus on top of that you'll be able to see it better on a new nine
00:30inch touchscreen that's also standard across the board. Then there's a few other things like new
00:36wheels but really the big news for the new CR-V is over here. Honda is bringing a Trail Sport trim
00:44to the CR-V for the first time. Now if you haven't heard of Trail Sport, it's kind of like what TRD
00:50is to Toyota or what Wilderness is to Subaru. It's a special exclusive off-road focused trim
00:56level with a bit more capability to take you farther out into the woods. It is worth mentioning that not
01:02all Trail Sports are created equal, right? The first Trail Sport was the Passport and it was
01:08mostly appearance. Now the new Passport Trail Sport is actually kind of a hardcore off-roader,
01:13got a lot more mechanical capabilities going on. This one's more like that first Passport,
01:18the main update you're going to see here is these Continental Cross Contact all-terrain tires.
01:24That's what's doing a lot of the work here. There's no changes to the powertrain or differentials or
01:30the suspension. There's not any underbody protection or anything. Really what's happening
01:35is right here and these coupled with a new and upgraded traction control system that's available on
01:41all all-wheel drive CR-Vs will help detect wheel slips sooner, activate the brakes to send power
01:47to the wheels that have traction and get you going quicker in tricky situations. Now the Trail Sport
01:52package is its own trim level and because of that it's only available with the hybrid powertrain. So
01:58that means you get 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. It's all-wheel drive only and that hybrid
02:05will give you a little more power than the base engine and it will probably give you a little bit
02:09better fuel economy to help offset these chunkier tires but we don't have an exact number quite yet.
02:14Now inside the Trail Sport gets some unique upgrades as well and right up top we've got the
02:21orange stitching and embroidery on the seats. We've got the Trail Sport rubber floor mats and
02:28a few other things that you wouldn't normally get on what is ostensibly a sport trim level. They've also
02:34added that big fully digital instrument cluster plus standard heated seats and heated steering wheel
02:40and you know they even turned the ambient lighting orange for that little something extra. Now Honda
02:47doesn't have the price set for us quite yet but we think based on where it sits in the lineup and last
02:55year's pricing somewhere in the mid $30,000 probably a good guess. For the full story go to MotorTrend.com
