00:00I don't know if she ran the whole way to Tokyo or not, but it's absolutely tremendous to see her there.
00:06Elish, Paul's here in the studio with me and Ellie.
00:09Delighted to see you.
00:12Thanks for having me.
00:13It's been a busy week for you, hasn't it?
00:17Yeah, just a touch.
00:18The legs are definitely a little bit delicate as a reminder of the weekend.
00:23But yeah, it was a really, really incredible race and an amazing experience.
00:27And Paul, the whole thing about Elish beating her mother's record from five, six years ago.
00:34Yeah, I mean, Scottish rec, Scottish London.
00:36We've spoken before, Elisha.
00:37How was mum about the record?
00:40Because, I mean, she's had it for a long time.
00:42She must be really proud that you've won it, right?
00:44That you've beaten it.
00:46Yeah, I mean, it was the only record that my mum had left.
00:49I started breaking her track record back in 2017.
00:54So, yeah, it was a really special moment.
00:57To keep the Scottish records in my family name.
01:02But yeah, my mum, for a very long time, has always felt like I was capable of breaking them.
01:06And the marathon was the last one to get.
01:09So, yeah, really special day for my family.
01:11And how fitting that has passed on to you.
01:12People like Paul and me remember your mum, obviously, so well.
01:15And it's quite unusual, you know, to see you growing up, adult, talking about her.
01:20Makes us feel old.
01:24Yeah, I mean, it's similar with Paula Radcliffe.
01:27And I think her daughter actually took part at the weekend as well in the mass race.
01:31So, it's very, very surreal that 30-odd years later, yeah, here I am doing the same race that, yeah, my mum won back in 1996.
01:41So, it's, yeah, family tradition now.
01:44And Ailish, just to top off what was an incredible weekend for you.
01:48You got engaged yesterday, didn't you?
01:51Congratulations.
01:53I actually got engaged just a couple of hours ago.
01:55So, it was very, very fresh.
01:56It's literally hours ago.
01:57Wow, this is breaking news.
02:00It is breaking news.
02:02I think you probably times that towards everyone before my family.
02:06But, no, I'm joking.
02:06It was literally just a couple of hours ago.
02:09So, yeah, we're very much excited and on cloud nine at the moment.
02:13It was such a beautiful day.
02:14Like, we could not have asked for anything better.
02:16So, yeah, really special memories.
02:18Could you not have got a better picture?
02:21I know.
02:21I honestly, I can't.
02:23He absolutely winged that, by the way, because that was not even planned.
02:26We hadn't even planned to go to visit Mount Fuji until late last night.
02:29So, yeah, he's definitely peeled it off, but I don't know how.
02:33Well, I've got to say, I mean, Michael up there, your fiancé,
02:35I know he's an Olympian as well, but I wondered whether,
02:39had he considered maybe going down on one knee as you'd crossed the line
02:43over the London Marathon, or has he said it was always planned
02:45to be under Mount Fuji there?
02:48He had no plans under Mount Fuji whatsoever.
02:51He's had the ring for a little while, but was just waiting for a good moment.
02:53But I know he would definitely not do that London Marathon.
02:56He would know that that would, I would want the world,
03:00the hole in the ground to swallow me up.
03:02It's definitely, this was nice.
03:04There was no one there.
03:05There was just us.
03:06It was a really special moment between the two of us.
