00:00China's manufacturing activity has fallen as U.S. tariffs take effect.
00:05China's National Statistics Bureau says a key measure of industrial output came in at 49 in April,
00:11down from March's 50.5, and anything below 50 signifies contraction.
00:16This was a steeper decline than many analysts had expected.
00:19U.S. tariffs as high as 145 percent on Chinese products began in April,
00:24and Beijing has responded with 125 percent tariffs on U.S. imports.
