PM holds Cabinet meets over Pahalgam attack amid tensions with Pakistan

A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is currently taking place at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah present.

00:05After the Pahlgahm terror attack, the Prime Minister chaired a high-level security review meeting at his residence

00:11with the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Oval,

00:15Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and three military chiefs.

00:20Sources say during the meeting, the Prime Minister granted full operational freedom to the forces to decide its reply.

00:26It's more targets and timing of India's military response to the Pahlgahm terror attack.

00:33Amid this, the Indian Armed Forces are maintaining a high state of operational readiness on all fronts amid heightened tensions with Pakistan.

02:07So those are the things that are now being looked at.

02:13Now these are the outfits that the Indian government will very closely be looking at.

02:23And also let me tell you, Adil Thokar, the government looks at him and they believe,

02:30they have evidence to believe that he's the mastermind behind this attack.

02:33Training was being given, recce was being done.

02:36So the government now understands everything.

02:38The NIA, as we are speaking, Neha, statements are being done, recce is being done.

02:42And some of the survivors, in fact, they have been taken back to that spot, the Baisaran Valley,

02:47where unfortunately this attack took place.

02:48A recreation of everything is being done.

02:51So the government is making sure that they have a watertight case.

02:55And with regards to that, with this case, with the evidence,

02:58we will tell the world community what exactly has happened in Baisaran Valley

03:02and who's responsible for it.

03:04So that's something that the government is looking at.

03:05But Indian growth, Indian economy should not get hurt in the process.

03:09That's also something that the government is very keenly looking at.

03:12And that's the reason why we have the cabinet meeting also taking place today.

03:16But like the last time, after the CCS,

03:18we have seen how India has taken stringent measures against Pakistan.

03:22After the CCS meeting also, we will see more stringent action being taken.

03:35Now, condemning the Pahlgam terror massacre,

03:38Prime Minister Narendra Modi, remember, had vowed to deliver justice to the families of the victims,

03:43as well as promised the harshest form of punishment for the terrorists behind the April 22nd attack.

03:49And promised to crush the patron of terrorists stressing on the nation's unity

03:53and resolve in the face of terrorism.
