00:00Despite a fractured foot, Mumtaz carried a tourist's child to safety.
00:07As fear swept through the valley and tourists ran for their lives on 22nd April 2025, she and her sister Rubina chose not to abandon their home, the last mud house on the way to Baisaran Valley.
00:17There, they rescued a couple from Chennai and guided several others through the rugged trails.
00:21Known locally as the Rabbit Girls of Kashmir for letting tourists photograph their bunny for a few rupees, these sisters had been accompanying the Chennai couple just minutes before the firing began.
00:38They also told us that the sisters returned to the valley three times to rescue more people.
00:49And each time, there were more people running, more who needed help.
00:52If there is no Muslim or Hindu, there is no death of a human being.
00:55So now our whole work is finished.
