00:00Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
00:01Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker.
00:02On the subject of polls, polls about the first 100 days of President Trump's administration
00:07were released a few days ago, and he has the lowest approval rating of any president in
00:13the last 80 years, according to the Washington Post, BBC News, and Ipsos, I believe.
00:18Other polls suggest similarly low numbers.
00:20What do you – how do you interpret those numbers, and is that not a sign that your
00:25conference, your party, your leader, need to be changing course given those low record
00:28ratings?
00:29Well, there's always a – in any new administration, it's a roller coaster, right?
00:34When you come in and you make dramatic change, which is what he did, he's delivering on the
00:37promises made, there's some bumps along the road.
00:40I mean, we're changing everything.
00:42As we said, when President Trump was running, I told him and we told our own voters he could
00:46be the most consequential president of the modern era.
00:48Now the media is – all of you are acknowledging that it's true.
00:52By extension, we can be the most consequential Congress as well, because we quite literally
00:56have to fix every area of public policy.
00:59The last four years was an absolute unmitigated disaster, and we've got to fix it all.
01:04So when you're doing that, it's disruptive in a way.
01:07And the early initial people, they have an emotional reaction sometimes for the big changes,
01:11but what they're seeing and what the real polling is showing is that they understand that we're
01:16headed somewhere.
01:17This is the – out of the gates, all these big achievements that we just recounted, and
01:20I said we're just getting started.
01:22The reconciliation bill is the big chunk of this.
01:24The vehicle through which we will deliver the America First agenda is this big, beautiful
01:29bill, which is why we call it that.
01:31The president's approval rating is better than it was in 2017 when he got started, right,
01:36because people trust him.
01:37The thing about President Trump is he's had an administration.
01:40This is not a new thing.
01:42People remember.
01:43It's hard to remember.
01:44It seems like it was 20 years ago.
01:45But right before COVID, we had the greatest economy in the history of the world.
01:48There's been a little question and concern about the rocky start and some of the stock
01:53markets, some of the tariff policy and all that.
01:55But right now, even today, people are beginning to see the dust settle on that.
01:58They understand there was a master strategy behind this, and they're seeing the results.
02:02We're going to have 100 countries, by some accounts and maybe higher, renegotiate their
02:07trade policies with America because of what President Trump did.
02:10He's the only leader bold enough to have done that.
02:12And that's going to be a net positive, of course, for all the American people.
02:15It's going to be more fair for us.
02:17We trust the executive to do that.
02:19We trust this executive to do that.
02:20And President Trump has had some great achievements.
02:22So, look, polling goes up and down.
02:24We all talk about it, pros and cons.
02:26But at the end of the day, we're going to deliver on these results, and the American
02:28people are going to reward us for it.
02:30Yeah.
