00:00As we celebrate this Christmas season, we are reminded of many different holiday traditions,
00:08including the reading of the night before Christmas.
00:11Here, to help me, the sound effects master himself, please welcome to the stage, Baylor Anderson.
00:22You know, this would be ten times better, with some props.
00:30Thanks.
00:43Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
00:49Squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak.
00:51The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
00:56Ho, ho, ho.
00:58The children were nestled, all snug in their beds.
01:03While visions of sugarplums danced in their heads.
01:09Wicca, wicca, wicca, wicca.
01:12Fresh.
01:14And Mom and her kerchief, and I and my cap, had jostled down for a long winter's nap.
01:22When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
01:27Away to the window, I flew like a flash, tore open the shutters, and threw up the sash.
01:37What was that?
01:41I threw up the sash.
01:45The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow gave the luster of midday to objects below.
01:50When what to my wondering eye should appear but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.
01:59With a little old driver so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
02:04More rapid than eagles as courses they came, and he whistled and shouted and called them by name.
02:09Now Dasher, now Prancer, on Comet, and Tracer, on Cosmo, is there another dancer in there I'm pretty sure?
02:20Um, on Bruce Springsteen.
02:23Do you think one of Santa's reindeer is Bruce Springsteen?
02:29Born in the USA.
02:33Because it's not.
02:34Born in the USA.
02:36You done?
02:45Yeah, I'm done.
02:46And then in a twinkling I heard on the roof the prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
02:53As I drew in my head and was turning around, down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
02:58Bound?
03:00He was dressed all in fur from his head to his foot, and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
03:05You have to be kidding me.
03:07A bundle of toys he had flung on his back, and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
03:10The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, and the smoke had encircled his head like a wreath.
03:19Oh, I gotta quit.
03:21He had a broad face and a little round belly that shook when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly.
03:26Oh, oh, oh, smuckers.
03:29He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, and filled all his stockings, then turned with a jerk.
03:37I'm sorry, what did you just call me?
03:38And laying his finger aside of his nose and giving a nod up the chimney, he rose.
03:45He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, and away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
03:50Santa the Tower, Santa the Tower.
03:52This is Tower Santa.
03:54We're looking for a clear takeoff.
03:56Yes, you are clear for takeoff.
04:00Pew, ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas.
04:04Pew, pew, pew.
04:10My leg.
04:15Is Santa dropping bombs?
04:17There are supposed to be presents, but I don't know.
04:21That's amazing.
04:23But I heard him exclaim, Eerie drove out of sight.
04:26Merry Christmas to all.
04:28And to all a good night.
04:30All right, we're done with that.
04:32We know the rest of it.
04:32We've heard it.
04:33Amen.
04:33Amen.
