01:26I hope we can entertain you guys and teach you some things you didn't know
01:30or clarify some things that you were confused about.
01:33So here we go.
01:34Let's go.
01:35Let's go.
01:36Go ahead, buddy.
01:39How many of you guys said I got a picture with Steve?
01:41All right.
01:42Give me some.
01:44Nice.
01:45I got to watch him take 9,000 photographs.
01:48Are you exhausted?
01:50Oh, there you go.
01:51And if you are in a position where you can write your name or take pictures with people
01:56and make them happy, hey, it's a great thing.
01:59So I'm just happy that all the bumps, bruises, and the travel, and the hardships on the road
02:05all paid off at the end because it's great to see so many people out here having a damn good time
02:11at the NFL WWE World.
02:15I worked alongside with Icon Autographs for a long time.
02:20a lot of pro athletes sign autographs, a lot of wrestlers sign autographs, and take photos.
02:25I think you might be one of the, you've got it the most dialed in.
02:29You know, there'll be a little kid, and he's like this in a chair or something, and then you'll see what he's got.
02:35And then if it's a middle finger, you'll adjust.
02:38It's pretty quick.
02:39You're a pro.
02:40Well, you know, sometimes, you know, when these kids get younger and younger,
02:43they want to throw up the middle burner.
02:45That's my number one requested photo, so I'm always happy to oblige.
02:49It is what it is.
02:51I mean, if a middle finger's the worst march of the day for you, it's been a good day.
02:57You've got to learn.
02:58Ultimately, you've got to learn a middle finger anyway, so you might as well let me teach it to you.
03:04And also show it to all the parents who are cool enough to be like, no, it's okay, you can flip off.
03:10This is the one time they told me to do it.
03:13That's good.
03:14I'm very excited.
03:15I'm sure a lot of you guys will say, who is Jeff Dye, and is he even a real wrestling fan?
03:22Which puts me in a difficult position, where if I ask him a question, you're going to go, we already know the answer to that.
03:28We saw it on whatever.
03:30So I've lined up some questions to get to know Steve, Austin, the man.
03:36And I'm sure if there's a wrestling question I missed, it's already on the internet.
03:41So let's jump into this.
03:43Okay, buddy.
03:45We know that you're from Edna, Texas, right?
03:49That's not where you live.
03:50You live outside of Tahoe.
03:52You can answer this for either one.
03:54If we're in those towns, where's the best place to eat?
04:00My house.
04:02My wife is the best damn cook in all of Nevada.
04:05So I'm real picky about going to restaurants.
04:08We'll go to Lake Tahoe for sushi.
04:11Okay.
04:12Over at the Naked Fish, if you're ever over there.
04:14I hate to give you one of my hangouts, but if you're going to go to Lake Tahoe, go to the Naked Fish.
04:19Outstanding.
04:20But I only live about 15 miles from there, so come by my place.
04:24I'll have my wife cook us up something, because she's the best cook in Carson Valley.
04:30Sounds like we're going to Stone Cold's house.
04:33I've got plenty of beer.
04:36I love it.
04:37One great thing about being here is you see everyone with a belt.
04:42You see everyone with a shirt or the merch or the great stuff.
04:45As a child, what was your favorite toy?
04:49Back in my day, a lot of people here, since you're younger than me,
04:54but Evel Knievel was a daredevil who jumped a motorcycle over a bunch of buses and stuff like that.
05:01And so there was a motorcycle, and you put it on a little gimmick box, and you crank it up,
05:07and that wheel would start spinning, you'd hit the lever, and Evel would go jump a bunch of shit.
05:11So that was probably the coolest toy I ever had, was Evel Knievel.
05:15And he was one of my heroes.
05:17Did you ever meet Evel Knievel?
05:19I never met him.
05:20I met his son, who did a hell of a job himself.
05:22He's no longer with us.
05:23But, you know, Evel Knievel's bravery and pushing the limits in that field,
05:28and these days when Travis Pastrana and all the badass drivers that are doing what they did,
05:33but Evel was one of the first guys to go big.
05:36How many of you guys liked the belts, the titles, as we were supposed to call them?
05:42You guys belt people?
05:43I am a big fan of the titles.
05:47I'm a big fan.
05:48I like the shittier belts.
05:49I like the good belts.
05:50What's your favorite belt?
05:52Hey, man, I'm still a big fan of that Intercontinental Championship belt.
05:57You know, I see Savage Steamboat, those guys.
06:00That belt's kind of a workhorse belt.
06:03You know, if they're gonna put that belt on you, you better be able to work your ass off and put on a good match.
06:08And, you know, that meant a lot of times that they were gonna groom you to carry on.
06:12that world title, but I go to the IC belt as being my favorite.
06:17Is there any belt you won't sign?
06:19I'll sign any belt that somebody's got because, you know, it's not for me to pick.
06:25And I love them all.
06:27And I've signed all the NWO stuff, all the competitive stuff.
06:31Those guys are my friends.
06:33If it's a belt you want to sign, I don't give a rat's ass.
06:36I'll sign.
06:37Which leads perfectly to my next thing.
06:41What is the strangest thing?
06:43We've seen some strange people.
06:45What is the strangest thing you've been given or asked to sign?
06:50Man, all kinds of objects, you know, sometimes.
06:54You know what I hate signing is effing baseballs.
06:59I'm glad I'm not a pitcher in major league because they've got to sign all those baseballs
07:05into the hardest things to sign.
07:07So, I remember back in the day, we used to, when I was really, really hot, coming on
07:12in a stone cold, I would sign people's either breasts or back or arms.
07:19They would get that tattooed on them.
07:22So, I wouldn't say that was strange.
07:24I would just say, I met a kid the other day.
07:26I was shopping for some clothes to come out here.
07:28And he had a stone cold tattoo on his forearm.
07:32And I said, brother, he was only about 20 years old.
07:35I said, brother, when did you get that tattoo?
07:37He goes, about a year ago.
07:39And I said, well, hey, I appreciate that because it took some time and effort to think about
07:44that, getting my stuff, you know, that skull tattooed on your forearm on the forearm
07:49is a statement and a commitment.
07:51So, you don't take it lightly.
07:52But back in the day, when we used to leave the buildings, you know those train stamp tattoos?
07:57Man, there used to be so many women that would walk out of that show and dance.
08:01That showed me where the mid-riff shirts are kind of high up on her back.
08:05And you see that smoke and school tattoo or Austin 316.
08:10And I just thought it was the coolest thing in the world, yeah.
08:13I love that.
08:16Yeah, a lot of people have been bringing you, and I wanted to get into this.
08:19I was going to do it later, but let's just do it.
08:21People bringing you cat treats.
08:23I've seen cat shirts.
08:25One guy thanked him like almost teary-eyed going, man, thanks for making it cool for
08:31men to have cats, which I'm not even sure if that's true.
08:35How do you feel about it?
08:37You're making it cool for men to have cats.
08:39Hey, if you're a guy and you're just tough as I am, it's cool to have a cat, god dang it.
08:45And if you've got a mouse or a gerbil or a bunny rabbit, that's cool as well.
08:50I'm a dog guy, traditionally.
08:53I've got a black lab and a silver lab.
08:56Moolah and Cali.
08:58And then our cat died when we bought the house that we live in now.
09:03And so we had to get a couple more.
09:05And so we got Poncho and he had a brother.
09:08And so we named him Poncho and Lefty.
09:11Lefty died.
09:12We got another Lefty.
09:13Lefty died.
09:14And so then comes Macho.
09:16We got this little orange cat.
09:18And my wife says, well, what are we going to name him?
09:21And with a name like Poncho, you got to follow it up with something good.
09:24I said, hell, Randy Savage.
09:27We're going to call that cat Macho.
09:29So I love those cats.
09:31They're thinking Steve's.
09:32And I don't know why people love those cats so much.
09:35But I guess it's because they're some solid-ass cats.
09:38And they've done some charisma.
09:40But people love them.
09:41And I do too.
09:43I've seen more merch of your cats today
09:46than a lot of the current wrestlers on the card.
09:49Well, the cats are more over than I am on my IG.
09:52So I'll post a picture of myself.
09:54And people say, okay, where's Poncho and Poncho, eh?
09:56So they're kind of a thing right now.
09:58Well, that's one thing that's cool about you is you're a cat guy,
10:01but you're also a dog guy.
10:02You're a beer guy, but you're a wine guy.
10:04You're a cool enough man that you make everything cool.
10:07So along with drinking, I don't know if this has ever been asked of you,
10:11what did you do for your 21st birthday?
10:16Man, that's so long ago.
10:18I can't remember, Jeff.
10:19I mean, you know, the 21st birthday wasn't really significant for anything for me
10:23because back in the day, I think what legal drinking was probably 18.
10:26So, but I remember when I used to run track at Edna High School,
10:32I threw the discus and I threw the shot foot.
10:35I was pretty jacked up for a kid.
10:37And so you ride the school bus to the track meet.
10:40And my buddy drove a Ford Thunderbird, about a 76 model.
10:45And so I would always ride home with my buddy.
10:48And so we'd always go to the 7-Eleven and try to score some beer.
10:52Now, we weren't legal drinking age, so I'd walk in with my chest all out like that.
10:58And if I didn't get carded when I was 16 years old, 16, 17,
11:02that wasn't legal drinking age, but if they didn't card me,
11:05I'd get a six pack or a 12 pack and we'd drink that beer.
11:08One large alcohol, please.
11:11Good times.
11:13I love that.
11:14So, you're making wine cool.
11:18You're making cats cool.
11:19You're making beer cool.
11:20You're making all these things cool.
11:21Do you think you could make karaoke cool?
11:24Man, I can't sing to save my life.
11:27And I tell everybody, that was my first dreaming life.
11:30I wanted to be a freaking rock star.
11:32I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.
11:35My dad played guitar.
11:36He tried to teach me.
11:37I didn't practice enough.
11:39And anyway, so music didn't turn out for me.
11:42So professional wrestling was my next endeavor.
11:45So back in the day, we used to go to Japan.
11:48And we'd be over for about two or three weeks on the tour.
11:51And all the guys were saying, God damn, get up here and go sing a song.
11:55I said, man, I cannot sing.
11:57Finally, I was wasted.
11:59And they taught me to go up there.
12:01And when I got up there, they couldn't get me off that stage.
12:05And I drove about half the crowd out of that freaking place because I sucked.
12:10Margarita bill!
12:11Is that, wait, is that your go-to?
12:13He said margarita bill.
12:14Is that your go-to?
12:15How you been doing that?
12:16How you been doing that?
12:17There's a couple times, you know, singing on Monday Night Raw with The Rock.
12:20Yeah.
12:21And singing Jimmy Buffet.
12:22That was always fun.
12:23I remember one time I was doing the national anthem, I think, with Lillian.
12:28And then she stopped singing because I was so off-key.
12:32And when she stopped, I was like, okay, we're on live TV and she's ribbing me.
12:37But I was so off-key, I miss her.
12:40But I always enjoy singing with Lillian.
12:43I love it.
12:44Are you sick of taking photos and signing autographs at any point?
12:50Like I said, man, when you go down the road and you do the work that you do when you're a professional wrestler,
12:57it's a blessing that people will remember what you did 21, 22, 20, 30 years later.
13:03So I'm always happy to.
13:05I love that.
13:06So then that's my question.
13:08What was your first autograph?
13:10Not the first time you signed it.
13:12What was the first autograph you asked someone for?
13:16There was a...
13:18The World Yo-Yo Champion came to Edna, Texas.
13:23And his name was Buddy Martin.
13:25You can look it up.
13:27And so Buddy Martin was my first autograph that I ever got.
13:31The World Yo-Yo Champion.
13:33Random as hell, but that's the truth.
13:35Hey, I was paranoid I wasn't going to be able to ask a question that's already been answered.
13:39I think that might be it.
13:41Yo-Yo Champion.
13:43Alright, I love it.
13:45What is the most recent thing that Stone Cold Steve Austin has learned?
13:51I learned that that Hall of Fame ought to be a little bit shorter than what it was.
13:57Yeah!
13:58Yeah!
13:59And I just wrote about three or four hours sooner.
14:01Yeah!
14:02I got to bed about, I don't know, about 315.
14:05I'd call it 316 last night.
14:07Yeah!
14:08I came home.
14:09Where I live in Nevada, I'm a hermit.
14:11I see my wife, but, and I spend a lot of time in the desert.
14:16So I don't hang out with a whole lot of people.
14:18So once I've been hanging around a whole lot of people, I kind of got to decompress and do my own thing.
14:23So I drank a beer, and I had a little bit of a bottle of wine left.
14:28I chilled out, and by now I went to sleep.
14:30But when that alarm clock went off, I was red-eyed and grumpy.
14:34I said, man, what the hell?
14:36Yeah!
14:37I got to buy Vi-Zine with Stone Cold Steve Austin this morning.
14:40Yeah, we went to the gimmick shop.
14:42The one thing I didn't bring was Vi-Zine.
14:44And I knew it was going to happen.
14:45I knew it was going to be a long haul of things.
14:47But yeah, the Vi-Zine was madly needed.
14:50Vi-Zine 316 says I just cleaned your ass up.
14:58One thing I like about successful men like yourself is they always have this interest that you're surprised to hear about.
15:04Right? You want to talk to Terry Bradshaw, don't talk to him about football.
15:07Talk to him about horses.
15:09You want to hang out with Mickey Mantle, don't talk about baseball.
15:11I'll talk about drinking.
15:13You are so into racing.
15:15Has this been your whole life, or is this a new chapter?
15:19Or talk to me about the racing.
15:21I just was with him for a while.
15:22It's very interesting.
15:23I know nothing about it.
15:25So we just filmed a show a couple of years ago.
15:28The show turned down like shit.
15:31So anyway, I got a chance to do a poker run.
15:35And run with these guys.
15:37If you've noticed over here, there's an 18-wheeler that says Kawasaki on it.
15:41That's a race team that I race with.
15:43And so I got out there and I ran a poker run with those guys.
15:47And they called me back.
15:49They called me up a few months later.
15:50They said, hey, would you really like to race?
15:53And I said, well, hell yeah.
15:54Sounds like fun.
15:55So I started racing about three years ago.
15:58And I've been working with Kawasaki Motorsports for 10 years as a brand ambassador.
16:03So I'm very competitive.
16:06I remember my first matches when I first started out in wrestling.
16:10I sucked when I first started racing.
16:13I sucked.
16:14I'm getting better.
16:15My teammate is an excellent driver.
16:18And so I try to learn from him.
16:21But it's getting reps in at anything you do in life.
16:24So racing is my new passion.
16:27And I'm late to the game.
16:29But I'll do it until I can't do it no more.
16:31They said you're actually very good now.
16:33I'm not going to blow any smoke up my ass.
16:36But I'm very competitive.
16:38And you want a championship.
16:40Yeah.
16:41I study and I go out in the desert.
16:43And I drive.
16:44I drive by myself.
16:46And all my buddies have regular jobs.
16:49And I don't have a normal job I've ever had.
16:51So when I break down out there.
16:53Man, I've spent a lot of miles humping it in the desert.
16:56Walking back to my frickin' foot.
16:58You know, making repair on my buggy.
17:00Or just getting back on the trailer so I can, you know, get back to town.
17:04And it pisses my wife off.
17:06She says, are you going out by yourself again?
17:09And I say, yeah, but I'm only going to drive 50%.
17:13Hey man, when you start that buggy up with your helmet on, you're going 100%.
17:17And that's where, you know, things are bound to go wrong.
17:20But that's my latest passion.
17:22And I just have so much fun with it.
17:24It brings me a lot of joy.
17:26It looks fun.
17:27It looks scary as hell.
17:28He was explaining how to drive it and how to navigate.
17:31And it sounded...
17:32Hey, well, yeah.
17:33I got my co-driver.
17:34He owns a team.
17:35And he's calling out turns to me.
17:38We have a numbering system about how sharp the turn is.
17:41And then, you know, like if you're giving up on somebody, we've got a siren in our car.
17:47And that lets him know, hey man, get out of the way.
17:50We're coming through.
17:51And it's dust, right?
17:53And you're driving through the dust and you can't see anything.
17:56And if that person doesn't get out of the way, you got to ram them in the back to get them out of the way.
18:03Hey buddy, we're back here.
18:04You didn't let us through.
18:05We was in a race.
18:07Last race we were in, some guy just mailed the shit out of me.
18:12Daringer knocked yourself in about a 20-foot ropey.
18:16And it was serious.
18:18But that's racing.
18:19It goes through the territory.
18:21It's just, it's fun as hell to do.
18:23And it's a challenge.
18:25We know about all the things you've accomplished in pro wrestling.
18:28As far as I'm going to assume most of you guys know that already.
18:31We know that you won a championship in racing, which is awesome.
18:34What is the strangest or coolest or weirdest thing you've ever won that we might not know?
18:41Yo-yo?
18:44Nah, we're worth a damn it.
18:46Yo-yo.
18:47I don't know.
18:49I don't know how to answer that question.
18:52Anything I've won that people can win?
18:54Anything like, we got these trophies now for everything.
18:58I don't know.
18:59Maybe there'd be something weird.
19:00No, nothing weird.
19:02World championship!
19:03That's the weirdest?
19:04The world champion?
19:05Alright.
19:06Wrestlers keep coming up to you.
19:10I've gotten to witness it all morning.
19:12It's been very fun to watch a guy I want to go say hi to.
19:15And he just shuffles right by me to say hi to Stone Cold.
19:18And it's kind of this nice little moment happening.
19:20Who is someone that you saw when you were in wrestling, whether you were very successful or not.
19:28You're like, I want to help this person. I want to push this person.
19:31Who are some people we don't know that you were like, I kind of knew ahead of time.
19:35Or I like this wrestler and I want to help them.
19:39Really, anybody and everybody.
19:41I didn't really single anybody out.
19:43Ken Anderson, 100 years ago.
19:44Ken Anderson came through WWE.
19:45I wanted to help him out.
19:46Of course, when I met Kevin Owens in an airport years ago, I gave him some advice.
19:50I wish him all the luck in the world with this.
19:51He's got a neck issue.
19:52I'm very familiar with that.
19:53So hopefully he can get that resolved because he's awesome in the ring and he's the future Hall of Famer.
20:10I wish him all the best.
20:13Chciał się na allość.
20:15Love that.
20:16Give it up for you!
20:22Whenever you do anything successful,
20:25and I'll speak for myself,
20:26I think I wish those fuckers from school
20:29could see me now.
20:31Is there anybody
20:32that you went to school with
20:35or junior high or any of these things,
20:37how do they treat you like now?
20:39Now that you're stone-cold.
20:40Do they all pretend they were friends with you back then?
20:43You know, when I go back home,
20:45I don't see too many people that I grew up with.
20:48Everybody's moved away or whatever.
20:51So, I don't know.
20:54It's been a long time since I got out,
20:56so everybody knows what I've done.
20:58But, I was always happy
21:00that after Eric Bischoff fired me from another CW,
21:05anytime I see Eric,
21:06and Eric and I are friends,
21:09but anytime I see Eric,
21:10it's kind of a...
21:12He said I wasn't marketable.
21:14And so, every time I sold a t-shirt,
21:16or we had a packed arena when I turned it to stone-cold,
21:19it was kind of like...
21:21If you didn't believe in me,
21:23I believed in myself,
21:24and it ended up worth it.
21:25You mentioned Kevin Owens.
21:27I was fishing for some sort of games we didn't know.
21:29What about Penta?
21:30Yeah, I like what Penta's doing.
21:32I mean, he's been around for a minute.
21:33He can work his ass off.
21:34He's exciting.
21:35I love the gimmick.
21:36They just gotta...
21:37They gotta light a fire under his ass and keep pushing him.
21:40We had a great introduction,
21:41but they gotta...
21:42They gotta keep the coal on him,
21:44and keep pushing him.
21:45So hopefully,
21:46they don't back off,
21:47and then they let him do what he can,
21:48because there's...
21:49There's a mystique about him,
21:50there's a charisma about him,
21:51and I think it's really fun to watch.
21:52I think it's incredible.
21:53I...
21:54Sean told me you recognized his talent back in 2017.
21:56I feel like everyone recognizes him in the second they see him.
22:13He's great.
22:14Alright, here's a weird one.
22:16Wrestlers are always traveling,
22:18especially...
22:19especially before...
22:21you know,
22:22before you really pop,
22:23you gotta be in, you know,
22:24airports and hotels
22:25all the time.
22:26Where is the weirdest place you've ever slept?
22:31Man, just on the floor somewhere,
22:33at an airport.
22:34You know, we...
22:35Back in the day,
22:36when we're traveling down the road,
22:37or we miss a flight, man,
22:39we've got...
22:40You know,
22:41you'd have...
22:42you'd have...
22:43three or four guys in a hotel room,
22:44you know,
22:45trying to save money.
22:46You know,
22:47guys crammed in cars,
22:48trying to save money,
22:49but...
22:50It was the same...
22:51The same thing that...
22:52You know,
22:53I used to...
22:54When I used to travel with Kevin Nash,
22:56it was like we were trying to rip ourselves.
22:59We purposely looked for the worst shitboxes we could find.
23:04It was almost like a...
23:05It was...
23:06It was a rip.
23:07So we stayed at, you know,
23:08$13 hotels back in the day.
23:10You know,
23:11if you shut the door,
23:12there was...
23:13And there was...
23:14I didn't see them up,
23:15you could still see the outside.
23:16So we...
23:17We looked for those.
23:18And I...
23:19I've stayed in a bunch of shitty hotels.
23:21I love it.
23:22Uh...
23:23This could be,
23:24or couldn't be,
23:25a wrestling question.
23:27Is there anyone in your life
23:29you owe an apology to?
23:31Man, I'm sure I've pissed off a lot of people, uh,
23:35in my life.
23:36And...
23:37And...
23:38I ain't gonna apologize.
23:39It just wasn't what it was.
23:41Yeah!
23:42That's a great stone cold answer right there.
23:45Uh...
23:47What a career you've had.
23:49It's...
23:50It's...
23:51You're literally my favorite wrestler,
23:52but also the most...
23:53What I've argued,
23:54the on-the-mount Rushmore of wrestling.
23:57For you,
23:58when you go to sleep at night,
23:59in your life,
24:01what is the most sacred moment you had?
24:04That doesn't have to be wrestling either.
24:06That...
24:07Uh...
24:08Explain that again?
24:09Your most sacred moment...
24:11in life.
24:13Man, I don't know that there is one.
24:16I don't know how to describe my most sacred moment.
24:22I'm at it, guys.
24:24No, I'm just a dumb-answered question.
24:27I, uh...
24:28Now, some people would say,
24:29oh, that when my child was born,
24:31or when I was, whatever,
24:32you know, I don't know.
24:33I don't know.
24:34What is your most embarrassing moment?
24:38Part of this embarrassing moment,
24:40and lesson,
24:41was when we was over there,
24:42in, uh...
24:43South Africa,
24:44and I shit myself,
24:45and, uh...
24:46Yoka Zou slammed me.
24:48And then...
24:49I told him, I said,
24:51Yoka, let's go home.
24:52And he goes,
24:53okay, bro.
24:54And we went home, so...
24:55You know, that doesn't...
24:56That was, uh...
24:57because of a dietary change.
24:59So, yeah,
25:00that would probably be...
25:01You're not the most...
25:02Shit yourselves,
25:03you want to be up there.
25:04Yeah, that's gotta be the top.
25:05Yeah, it's top three, anyway.
25:06Yeah.
25:07Uh...
25:08What city...
25:10I know you didn't want me to be...
25:11I'm trying to be very selective.
25:12You didn't want to be mean to any wrestlers,
25:14or anything.
25:15So, what is a city...
25:17that you never want to go back to?
25:20Shoot on a city, Steve.
25:22Thanks, sir!
25:24They're picking their favorites out there.
25:26You said Pittsburgh.
25:27Yeah, Pittsburgh's tough.
25:29Melvin Arena used to be tough, but...
25:31Atlanta!
25:32Uh...
25:33Not anyone else is...
25:34Atlanta!
25:35Atlanta!
25:36Penn State,
25:37where's Penn State at?
25:39What's that?
25:40Where's Penn State at?
25:41The town in, uh...
25:42Penn State?
25:43Madrid?
25:44I don't know.
25:45Penn State University.
25:46Whatever the town that that is,
25:48man, that's a hard town being around in, so...
25:51I don't like wrestling there.
25:53Penn State area.
25:55Alright, here we go.
25:57When did you realize, or maybe think to yourself,
26:01that you've made it?
26:02That you're like, that this is it?
26:04Is there a moment that you can think of when you go,
26:06oh, this...
26:07I'm like, I'm very grateful, this is it.
26:09I've made it.
26:10We're...
26:11I was always, uh...
26:12Like I said, I've talked in the past.
26:14I'm a big man in Chicago.
26:15They treated me well over there.
26:17Nice!
26:18And for some reason, one time we was over at a tag match,
26:21it was myself, Mark Merrow, Undertaker, and another guy.
26:25And every time I stepped in the ring, that crowd would come alive.
26:29And I was like, God dang, I must be doing something right,
26:33because Chicago's a tough crowd.
26:35If you can get over in Chicago, you know, it's kind of like the garden,
26:38you can get over anywhere.
26:39So I really got a sense that I was doing something,
26:43because when I first came into WWE,
26:46you know, I came in as a ringmaster.
26:48You got a shit gimmick.
26:50You don't know what it is.
26:51You don't know who you are.
26:53So you don't know what to do,
26:54because you don't have any bases of which to form decisions on.
26:58When I turned into Stone Cold, that gave me that base.
27:02And then finally, you're trying so hard to get a reaction out of you people,
27:07and people are just sitting there looking at you like,
27:09okay, what's next?
27:11When you start getting that feedback that you're looking for,
27:14that means something to you.
27:16Chicago was the first time that I ever started feeling it from a crowd.
27:20And it's very, very real.
27:22And it gives you confidence.
27:24If you don't have confidence, you don't have anything.
27:27Love that.
27:28Is there any idea or gimmick or story that you never got to really do?
27:34Because once you found the Stone Cold voice, then that's it.
27:37And you're not trying anything out.
27:40Is there anything you ever thought you would have wanted to do
27:43if you weren't the Stone Cold Steve Austin?
27:48Not really. Not really. Yeah.
27:53What is...
27:54Alright, here you go.
27:55Who in your life has ever made you nervous?
28:03I don't know, man.
28:05Rick Lair, probably.
28:07I was down at WCW, and I was a huge fan of Rick Lair.
28:11And I kind of modeled my early part of my career after Rick Lair.
28:15And, you know, when you're in the ring, and you're young as I was,
28:19you're thinking, ah, shit, I'm going to take this guy.
28:22He's starting to get a little bit old.
28:24I'm going to take him.
28:25And then all of a sudden, you're working a six-man tag with him.
28:28And you're watching the man up close in person.
28:32And you're on the apron of the ring, and Flair's out there being Flair.
28:36And he's my personal goat.
28:39So, trying to live up to what Flair was.
28:43And obviously, you know, my career turned like it did.
28:46I turned into a brawler.
28:48But trying to keep up with Rick Flair, just to watch his work, was amazing.
28:53Because, to me, he's the greatest ever doing.
28:56Love that.
28:58Give it up for Rick Flair, huh?
29:00This is...
29:07You're a music guy.
29:08You don't sing, but you like me.
29:10You like everybody.
29:11We like music.
29:12What is the greatest concert you've been to?
29:15And how did they treat you?
29:17You know, I don't go to a whole lot of concerts.
29:20I saw, you know, Motley Crue and Ozzy a couple of times.
29:25I saw George Strait at the Cowboy Rides Away Tour a couple of years ago at AT&T Stadium.
29:33And you had a hundred some odd thousand people there to see the King.
29:37And everybody was laughing, smiling, singing, and dancing.
29:43The women love George Strait.
29:45The guys love him too, just because he's the coolest low-key guy in the world.
29:50I've seen him several times throughout my years.
29:55My doctor in Texas is his doctor.
29:58So there's a mutual connection there.
30:00So I don't know him real well, but George Strait.
30:04That's great.
30:05I mean, do you message him, like, hey, can I come to the show?
30:08Or do you guys just buy tickets and show up?
30:10No, no, he takes care of us.
30:12Yeah, yeah.
30:13Hey, man, I haven't set up a lot of tickets for WrestleMania.
30:15And, man, you talk about a pain in the ass.
30:18Setting up tickets sucks.
30:20So I hope everybody I set up tickets for makes it in, because at this point I'm unreachable,
30:26because I'm very, very busy.
30:28I love it.
30:29All right.
30:30What is the most upset you've ever made an audience member?
30:35Man, I tell you what, when I was a heel, and I talked so much trash, all the rib.
30:44When I was a heel, and I was working Triple H over there in the New Hampshire area or whatever,
30:50this is kind of on a different note, but Paul's parents would always sit on the front row,
30:56and so I'd always take Paul Triple H over there, and I'd beat his ass up right in front of him.
31:02I'd pick him up and drop his throat on the guardrail, and I'd put my foot on his chest.
31:08The whole time I was talking trash to his mother and father.
31:11And that was a lot of fun.
31:13And, you know, it kind of pissed him off a little bit, and then knew what was happening.
31:16Well, it's also great to be doing your job so well that you're pissing people off.
31:20Like, that's the only job I think you can do that.
31:22But everyone hated you. Good work. I mean, that's perfect.
31:26Alright, what is the craziest thing, this might be a bad question by me, that you've ever done for money?
31:35WrestleMania 17!
31:38WrestleMania 17!
31:41When was 17? That was a rock.
31:44That was a huge thing, man.
31:46Nothing. Nothing.
31:49Alright, here we go.
31:51This I like to ask a lot of rich guys.
31:54What's the biggest bar tab you've ever had?
31:58Because you're a drinker.
32:00Man, we went up, yeah.
32:02I remember one time I was hanging out with Zach Gwile from Black Legal Society.
32:06Woo!
32:07And we went to some joint right there on the Riverwalk in San Antonio.
32:11It was like a Jewish crab shack or something. I don't remember what it was.
32:15There was a deer head on the wall, a couple of small antlers.
32:19And before the night was over, we caught a deer's head on fire.
32:23The total tag getting out the door was a couple grand.
32:27I thought we was all going to jail. I had to get to ride home.
32:32It was a brutal night and it cost us nearly.
32:35Well, maybe tonight we'll set the record.
32:41Alright.
32:42We know, as a lot of wrestlers say, new year, new knee.
32:47You know, you got a new knee.
32:49We know about the next stuff.
32:51What is the greatest physical pain you've ever been in?
32:54I don't know about the greatest physical pain, but I just remember when I got dropped on my head at the mellow ants.
33:04God damn it scared the hell out of me because I didn't think I was ever going to move again.
33:09And it hurt, but I remained calm because I needed to finish the match.
33:13But I would say that's probably what scared the hell out of me the most.
33:18Yeah, is there anything you could tell wrestlers?
33:21I heard you give some advice to a wrestler back there.
33:23I'm not going to spoil it or anything or reveal it.
33:28What advice do you tell wrestlers about it?
33:31Because I mean, it's going to catch up to you.
33:33The pain and the stiffness.
33:34What do you tell wrestlers?
33:36Hey man, pick your spots.
33:37I remember when I first started in Dallas, Texas.
33:40A lot of the veterans would come up to us and tell us,
33:43Hey man, you only got so many bumps on your bump card.
33:46And take care of your body.
33:48And you know, when you listen to them, you're 24 years old and you're bulletproof.
33:53So you think, yes, I got to get to where I'm going.
33:56So I got to do everything I can do.
33:59I wish someone would have stripped me up at Harvard and said,
34:03Dude, take care of yourself.
34:05So I should have taken better care of myself.
34:07Just because that's what I tell the kids these days.
34:11Watch everybody work.
34:13Watch the people that are really good.
34:15And listen to the crowd.
34:16And learn psychologically what's working.
34:19But take care of your body.
34:21Because the body is all you need to do.
34:24And you've got to take care of everybody else.
34:27Why is there so much damage?
34:28I have no idea.
34:29Can y'all hear us?
34:31All right, good.
34:32We're still good.
34:33You don't seem like a Hollywood guy, which is what we love about you.
34:41But what's the greatest party you've ever been to?
34:44I can't say, man.
34:46I haven't been to a lot of parties.
34:48I kind of, you know, everybody in the rest of the world knows it.
34:51I kind of, I run by myself.
34:53I don't go out much.
34:55We've had some, go back in the day on the road.
34:59You know, we stayed at a Motel 6 in Toronto.
35:02And there was a jukebox there at the pool table.
35:05Are they talking about someone's police ramp up or what?
35:08What's that?
35:09Are they talking about someone's police ramp up?
35:11I don't know if that's for us.
35:12Is that for us or not?
35:14I look for this car.
35:15Okay, got it.
35:16Got it.
35:17No, I have a lot of fun.
35:18I'm not a car guy, dude.
35:20Love it.
35:21All right.
35:22Let's talk about you.
35:23We did the show with Stephanie.
35:26What was, what is the show?
35:28It's not out yet, right?
35:30Your episode isn't out yet.
35:32Yeah, it just played the other day.
35:34Yeah, so Stephanie's got a new show out.
35:37And she has to get me on it.
35:39And she came out.
35:40I got a chance to take her in my race car, which is over there.
35:45And here, I'll give you something that nobody knows about.
35:49We were out there running in the desert.
35:51And I actually broke my transmission while we were filming out.
35:55Oil was pouring down the bottom of the car.
35:58And we put the car back together.
36:01And I won my next race.
36:03But yeah, it was, it was fun hanging out with her.
36:06Ever since I met Stephanie, for some reason, we just had this connection.
36:10That's, you know, more than a friendship.
36:12It's a bond.
36:13So, she's someone who I consider a very close personal friend.
36:18Although, we never talk and we never see each other.
36:21I just love her to death.
36:22And when I first came into the company, we were doing a campaign for the Olympics.
36:29And she was the intern to pick me up.
36:32And she was, I don't know, 17, 18, 19 years old, whatever she was.
36:36And that's how a bridge show started.
36:39And it remains to kill this thing.
36:41And it yest cho quiser.
36:42And it kind of Pence was birished, it's his face.
36:45And it was like, there were people who never can't 제일.
36:47And it was really sticky off of them.
36:50And at some point, it's to often the most.
36:54And the people who took just like, here we go.
36:56And people who made it look awful.
36:58And it's a branch on fire.
37:00And it's a girlfriends wanders from debris,
37:01and people sayלק you got a douche and a child.
37:03And there were a bulldog like, I meant you.
