00:00Filipina tennis sensation Alex Ayala came up short in her much-anticipated rematch against world No. 2 Iga Swagtek in the 2025 Madrid Open.

00:10Despite a strong start from the 19-year-old who led in the early sets, Swagtek found her rhythm in the second set and took hold of the match,

00:20ultimately sealing the win with a scoreline of 4-6, 6-4, and 6-2.

00:26It will be remembered that Ayala stunned the Polish star in their previous encounter at the Miami Open,

00:32one of the biggest victories in the young Filipina's career.

00:36Meanwhile, Ayala will stay on the clay courts as she heads to the upcoming WTA 125 Challenger Catalonia Open in Spain, set to begin on April 28.
