Today we chat to locals about landlines and whether they are still a household staple. Is there any tech they would like to see make a come back?

00:09I was with one of these whiz-bang internet-y things, which I don't have anyway.

00:17Nobody can get in touch with me. I don't want to get in touch with them.

00:21I have no idea what email is.

00:23Um, and these tick-tocky, nasty sort of things that I read about and are not for me.

00:31Do you still use a landline? Um, do you have it in your household?

00:35Yes, yes, yes, yes.

00:36How come you still have your landline?

00:38Because I work at home and my office is at home and I need a landline backup.

00:43Why don't you have a landline anymore?

00:45Um, I don't really need it. I mean, not really at home very much.

00:49Uh, so, and when I am at home, I have my mobile phone, so I completely didn't.

00:54But my parents still do. My grandmother still has a landline.

00:57It might be, it might be going out of date.
