Klopps Appell an die Jugend: "Ist hier jemand Messi?"

Jürgen Klopp sprach in einer Podiumsdiskussion über das Entwickeln von Jugendspielern und richtete dabei einen Appell an Trainer und Spieler.

00:00So life is all about opportunities and as a football manager you have to create opportunities.

00:07My team never had endless money, we got better and better, especially Liverpool,

00:17we didn't struggle with that, but we always had to look for our own boys,

00:23if we can use them, because it's obviously for us a big opportunity to save money,

00:28which we can spend on somebody else, so I was very open for these kind of things,

00:32I really tried to find them.

00:34I would say I didn't have to do a lot to bring the players through,

00:39because they were there, they were outstanding, it was obvious, so I just had to let them fly.

00:44I saw a lot of talent, so talent will not be the issue.

00:48If talent is not the issue, what could be the issue?

00:51To one, yourself, the attitude you put in, the work rate you put in,

00:54and the rest is the opportunities we create, and at least for the Red Bull clubs I can say now,

00:59I will use my full influence to make sure that we create these kind of spaces,

01:07because that's important.

01:08I saw yesterday super footballers, super.

01:11But the whole tournament is structured that you shine offensively,

01:15you can score, the pitch is small, everybody is scoring, the game is long,

01:18everybody gets tired to score even more.

01:21For the goalies it was not that easy, they had a few sensational saves,

01:24but for most of the time they shoot from 10, 15, 10 yards and it's gone.

01:29You all have to learn to defend to have a career, I have to tell you.

01:34It's really like that, tell me.

01:36There's one player on the planet who doesn't have to defend, it's Lionel Messi.
