00:00Tens of thousands of mourners are queuing to pay their respects and see the Pope lying in state.

00:06What does this moment mean to these people?

00:09Yes, Pope Francis was a very much loved Pope.

00:13We've had a rollercoaster papacy.

00:17And although some people in the church didn't understand him,

00:22or didn't know what he was doing and why he was doing it,

00:26the vast majority of Catholics really loved him.

00:28And now this will be shown by the people who go to see him.

00:31For me, what I take from this papacy is the closeness to people.

00:38You know, he had total dedication to the church right to the last day,

00:42where we saw him on Easter Sunday going around the square with the people,

00:47even though the doctors had asked him to rest.

00:50But his closeness to people, especially people who suffered, you know,

00:54prisoners, migrants who were dying in the Mediterranean,

00:58trying to cross into Britain,

01:02the poor, the homeless, the homeless who lived around the Vatican,

01:07who he invited to parties for his birthday and other days,

01:11and he treated them very well.

01:14People who were discriminated against, the gays, the trans, you know,

01:18he was very much close to people.
