00:00The man who is in charge of the Vatican right now, his name's Kevin, and he's from Dublin.

00:07Can you tell us more about Kevin from Dublin? I feel like everyone knows a Kevin from Dublin.

00:11Well, it's quite generic. This one seems quite qualified for this position.

00:18So Kevin Farrell, he's held several positions in the US, so although, yes, he was born in Dublin,

00:24the majority of his clerical career has been based in the US.

00:27He served as Auxiliary Archbishop for Washington, having been appointed by Pope Benedict XVI, or Pope John Paul, I believe.

00:34He also went on to serve as the Bishop of Texas after that as well,

00:38at which point, I believe, in 2017, he was called to Rome by Pope Francis,

00:43who said that, and famously, Pope Francis had a very good sense of humour,

00:48and he said, I believe that, actually, I believe Texas might need a better bishop than you.

00:52So he recalled him to Rome for a lesser position than what he currently has, which is Camerlingo or the Chamberlain,

00:56and means that he is in charge of everything, right through from the second that Pope Francis will have passed away

01:02until the conclave takes place, including all of the voting.

01:06He is effectively running the shop in the Vatican right now,

01:09and although no big decisions will be made by Kevin Farrell,

01:13he still is the guy who, at the end of the day, at the moment at least,

01:17is somewhat of an interim pope without any of the title.
