00:15First thing Casey said to me before I listened to it

00:22He said, it sounds like Talking Heads

00:24And you nailed it, Casey

00:26Spot on with that

00:27Because there are parts in there where he sounds a lot like David Byrne

00:30And they're using a lot of synth elements in this particular song

00:33Which of course the Talking Heads did a lot of

00:35And he says, this is not my beautiful Pearl Jam

00:37Oh, I missed that part

00:38Some people were texting in saying they hear a Chili Peppers vibe in there as well

00:43And a lot of negative comments on the text messages

00:47Let me give you my first impression on that

00:50And I'm not a one-listen guy

00:51I've said that many, many, many times

00:53And it takes a lot of listens for me to warm up to a song

00:55Casey and I listened to about the first minute and a half of it

00:58In the Q speakers here in the studio earlier this morning

01:02I thought it was terrible

01:03I didn't care for it

01:04By the last 30 seconds here of that

01:07I think I like it

01:08That's how quickly it turned around

01:11I'm not a big fan of Eddie Vedder's voice in general

01:15Meaning the vibrato that he does

01:19It's very choppy

01:22But I think it fits well with the grunge

01:26Heavy distorted guitar thing

01:28And it kind of slides in there well

01:31And that's why I didn't like the beginning of it

01:35Because you can really hear his

01:36His singing

01:37But by the end of it

01:39The melody kind of got me

01:40I've always been a sucker for synth pop

01:44It's interesting that Pearl Jam's going that route

01:46You can hear Matt Carman is clearly using electronic sounds

01:51And his drum kit

01:52There's a keyboard

01:54Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do thing going on there

01:56Who would be playing that, Nick?

01:57Is Eddie going to be playing keys?

01:59I don't know

02:00I mean, they've got two guitar players

02:01So somebody could step up and play that
