00:00Gio!
00:01Yes, sir.
00:02Hey, man.
00:03Now, I think every interview today was before the band went on stage, but because, you know,
00:07Michigan and it's hard to travel and get anywhere with freaking traffic, I get to talk to you
00:12after you played.
00:13Absolutely.
00:14Now, tell me what it was like.
00:15That was really cool.
00:17It was really, really fun.
00:19We had a blast, man.
00:20So, you know, I hope we keep getting to do this over and over again, man, so, yeah.
00:26Now, I know a lot of times when you've got to play out in the sunshine and stuff, you
00:29don't get as many fans, but it seemed like everybody just kind of ran in to check you
00:32guys out.
00:33Yeah, it was awesome, man.
00:34There was a whole lot of people when we got up there, and then the weather out here is
00:38just so beautiful under the, out, man, it was awesome.
00:41It was just, everything was awesome, man.
00:43Yeah.
00:44It was awesome.
00:45So, last time I saw the band, which by the way, wasn't expecting a tuba necessarily, but
00:50that kind of blew me away, but last time I saw the band was in January on Shiprocked.
00:54Yeah, man.
00:55And, I mean, what, just phenomenal time.
00:59We can talk about that for a second.
01:00Yeah, dude.
01:01Yeah, absolutely.
01:02But go ahead.
01:03What the hell was that like?
01:04Man, yeah, we couldn't bring the tuba onto the, we could, but, you know, it was just like,
01:10I don't know.
01:11I don't know why we didn't bring the tuba, man.
01:13It just did it.
01:14And then, man, Shiprocked.
01:16Wow, that was such a blast that where we go and play shows now, man, and like, there
01:23is, like, in different states, and there's at least one or like two people from Shiprock
01:28that bring all their other friends that didn't go to Shiprock.
01:31So, yeah, man.
01:32Every show, isn't it?
01:33Yes, it is insane, dude.
01:35Yeah.
01:36Yeah.
01:36So, that was the last time I saw the band.
01:37Yeah.
01:38That was January.
01:39Have you even been off the road since January?
01:41It seems like you've played constantly.
01:43No.
01:43Yeah.
01:44So, we have been on tour for, on this Tahano Punk Boys tour for, man, since January, man,
01:53when we got off of Shiprock.
01:53Even before Shiprock, we were pushing that album, and we still are, and, yeah, man, we're
01:59about to be off for a whole entire month, though, after touring.
02:03I don't know how long we've even toured, man.
02:05Like, real off or off and writing songs and doing promos or real off?
02:10Real off.
02:10Like, I'm not going to worry about anything else.
02:14Like, I am just going to strictly.
02:15You're going to worry about football, though.
02:16Oh, yeah.
02:16I'm going to worry about football.
02:17Every Saturday, college football, Thursdays if it's there, Fridays, you know.
02:21Right.
02:22Yeah, man.
02:22I love college football.
02:23I love NFL football, man.
02:25So, yeah, we were actually watching the games while we were over there eating on some grub,
02:29man.
02:29Right.
02:30Yeah, man.
02:30So, it's awesome, dude.
02:31That's cool.
02:32Who's your team?
02:33My team?
02:34Man, I'm about to, in October, I'm going to get married.
02:39Yeah.
02:39And she graduated from Texas Tech, man.
02:42Okay.
02:43So, that's your team now.
02:44That's my team now, man.
02:45You know?
02:46So, yeah.
02:47Go Red Raiders.
02:48Hey, I know what that's about.
02:50I married into Boston College.
02:51You know, hey, you know, you've got to be the supporter.
02:53I didn't go to college.
02:54Me neither.
02:57We date smart girls.
02:58That's right.
02:59We're smart guys.
03:00You see that?
03:01All right.
03:05I know it's impossible to project too far away, but what's the next album going to sound like?
03:09What are you guys going to do?
03:11Man, we cut a little demo not too long ago.
03:15Me and Jerry, one of my guitar players.
03:17And I'm really excited because it is more of a rock.
03:24I'm not saying that we weren't rock, but it's more of, yeah, man.
03:29It sounds good.
03:31I can't describe it, man.
03:34It is just, it's going to be like a mixture between, I don't know, man.
03:38I really can't.
03:39It's going to be awesome.
03:40I'm a little bit of a guitar nerd, and you've got a rock player and a metal player.
03:44Oh, yeah, dude.
03:46That's a pretty fine combo.
03:47Yeah, and I think this one is going to be the first, like, actual, actual album that Carlos,
03:56the metal player you're talking about, left-handed, that he's going to be on, like, completely be on.
04:00Because we had my old guitar player come in and do a few things, you know,
04:04because he was just getting used to being in this thing, you know.
04:08But this next album, I'm not going to let him hold back.
04:10Whatever he thinks sounds badass, I want him to go and play that thing, yeah.
04:15I'm just going to, I mean, you know, it's the band, man.
04:17It's not just me.
04:18Sure.
04:18You know, so.
04:20And you must pay them a lot of money if they're hired guns.
04:22Yeah, man, I guess so.
04:23You've got to save something back for yourself a little bit.
04:25Yeah, that's right, dude.
04:28Yeah, man.
04:28Gio, man, we love you.
04:30It's great to see you again.
04:31You look great.
04:32Thank you, man.
04:32Yeah.
04:33I love you guys.
04:34Thank you all so much for supporting us, man.
04:36It's been a hell of a ride so far, and I can't wait to see where we all go.
04:42You know what I mean?
04:42You've got a lot of fans in Detroit now.
04:44Thank you, man.
04:45You've got it, brother.
04:46Love Detroit.
04:46All right.
04:47All right.
04:47All right.
