00:34typhoon lagoon and their 214 foot water slide called humonga cowabunga i couldn't resist

01:01this is the water slide at the center of the lawsuit humonga cowabunga at disney's typhoon

01:09lagoon people plummet down a near vertical five-story drop and they go without a raft

01:15or a tube on wednesday a couple filed a lawsuit against disney saying the wife suffered severe

01:22and permanent bodily injury to her private area after going down the side in october 2019 the

01:29complaint says riders can reach speeds approaching 40 miles an hour and before they go down the side

01:34are told to cross their legs at the ankles in this woman's case the lawsuit says when she went down

01:40the slide near the end her body lifted up she became airborne and she was slammed downward against the

01:47slide which increased the likelihood of her legs becoming uncrossed the document says that and her

01:53impact into the standing water at the bottom caused a quote painful wedgie and immediate bleeding

01:59an ambulance took her to the hospital and she was eventually taken to another hospital for a

02:04specialist the lawsuit says she suffered damage to her internal organs now she and her husband are

02:11suing disney for over fifty thousand dollars accusing the company of negligence saying disney failed to

02:17provide her and other riders with proper protective clothing and failed to warn them of inherent dangers

02:23um i've gone down that slide and i didn't get a bloody wedgie no but you probably kept your legs crossed

02:32well yeah i kept my legs crossed i followed the rules some people can't cross their legs

03:53that should cause you to launch like unless you hit the water but i mean i feel like when you do

04:03you're going down but isn't that one in atlantis that i went on so you had to keep your legs

04:07closed like a lot of these really steep water slides are like that right yes usually cross your

04:11ankles and put your hands across your chest and cross your ankles i think the thing is so like

04:16that's when you're going down and i think a lot of times when you hit the water your instinct is to

04:21uncross uncross to no or to try to stabilize yourself in the slide i've never held my legs

04:27together so tight i did not want a water park enema right well that's i think what sent me all the

04:32way to the end holding your legs together yeah like bouncing like a like a fat stone

04:38you know uh skipping chuck and i think like a big fat stone here's a question do you think that

04:47they should include that in the warning like if you don't do this this is what could happen

04:54because they don't they obviously don't have that on signs you think well that's why they're suing

04:59everything that's why they're suing though right like they said that they should disney should have
