00:00I don't typically celebrate St George's Day in any way, which I think is sad as a country.
00:04Probably should be a bank holiday and then I think you'll probably get a bit more attention put on it.
00:08But yeah, George as a name, I think is quite regal, quite, you know, I'd put it down with the biblical names.
00:15Maybe, in fact, no, I was going to say dying out, but I think in the little one school,
00:20there's certainly more Georges now than there are in the upper age, I'll admit, but yeah.
00:24I don't think I've had a bad experience with a George before.
00:26I know some who are my age and I went to high school with, love his beer, I don't really see him anymore, but great dude.
00:35I love whenever I hear that he's around in our hometown.
00:38And then one of my scout leaders was called George, love him, I still see him because he owns a cheese shop.
00:44I love to see him, he's always really nice.
00:49I know George, who was, I think, like a family member when they're not, it's like your auntie Carol or whatever.
00:55She's always really nice, I love to see him.
00:57I've never had a bad experience with a George, I don't think.
01:00I've always had some, I like a George.
01:02So I do not mark St George's Day.
01:04The most significant thing about St George's Day to me is that it is my birthday the following day.
01:09I associate St George's Day with the St George's flag and a type of nationalism which I think has very little place in our society in this day and age.
01:20In terms of George's in my life, I have a lovely George who I was in my vocational training with.
01:30He's a rabbi, he lives on the west coast of America.
01:33He's an intellectual, he's a wonderful rabbi and I think he's the only George I know.
01:39With St George's Day, it passes most of the time without us really, really knowing about it.
01:44I feel like it's one of those things that in Scotland they have St Andrew's Day and in Ireland St Patrick's Day and those get more attention and perhaps everyone has a day off.
01:54I think the government could help St George's Day along by giving everyone an extra bank holiday.
01:59That would be nice.
02:00I've come from Clitheroe in Lancashire and I've been a part of scouting since I was about 10, about 20 now.
02:06So every single year we do the parade and I see all my scout leaners and I see all the people that I'm friends with and I have been since I was very little.
02:15And then usually we'll hang out.
02:18It always brings people together and it's always a very nice parade in my hometown.
02:22It's because we go through, we start at the church and walk all the way around to a different side of the town and there's everybody there.
02:28It's always really nice actually and everyone stands for a while at our castle that we have and they do all of the readings and stuff.
02:38So it's always really nice, it gets people together.
02:40No Georges, I've got a flagpole at home.
02:43I usually fly the Yorkshire flag but on Wednesday I'll be flying the St George's flag, the English flag.
02:51Yeah, recognise it but we should have a bank holiday like others do, like other countries do.
02:59I like theorie and I'll be all around and I'll be
03:01Beautiful to the mosque.
03:03Yes, that's for you.
