The Perlis Health Department has confirmed that a man was caught impersonating a medical assistant at Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (HTF) in Kangar earlier this month.

The incident gained public attention after a TikTok video showing the man in uniform went viral.

00:17According to a statement released Tuesday, the imposter was spotted around 9.28pm on
00:22April 8, wearing a complete medical assistant uniform and carrying medical equipment while
00:28wandering the hospital grounds.
00:31Investigations revealed that the 23-year-old man had no affiliation to either the hospital
00:36or the health ministry.
00:38He admitted to purchasing the uniform and medical items online, claiming he posed as a medical
00:44assistant because of his interest in the profession.
00:48Hospital management was alerted to the incident the same day, with a police report filed on
00:52April 9.
00:54The case has been transferred to the authorities for further investigation.
00:58Impersonating a civil servant is a criminal offence under Section 170 of the Penal Code.
