LIVE UNITED DANCE TROUPE - SOUTHLAND UNITED WAY

It’s no secret that people in our South & Southwest Suburban communities are facing some tough challenges. Statistics show that 1 in 5 low-income youth drops out of high school—and less than 10% who graduate go on to college. 80% of uninsured are working families, and 1 out of 4 families is so financially stretched that they must cut back on food, medical care and other necessities.

South-Southwest Suburban United Way (S-SW) is more committed than ever to helping increase the quality of life for those with the greatest challenges and needs in our community.

United Way increases access to the broad network of programs in our community:

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT Providing early childhood programs to give kids a strong foundation for lifelong learning; mentoring and stay-in-school programs.

SELF-SUFFICIENCY Providing counseling and job retention education; transportation assistance and subsidized day care for working parents earning minimum wages.

HEALTH & WELLNESS Providing assistance in accessing Medicare and Medicaid;care for seniors and people with disabilities; counseling and case management for people with mental illness and substance abuse issues.

CRISIS SUPPORT Providing temporary food, shelter and rent assistance to homeless individuals or other crisis; safe haven to victims of domestic violence.

Supporting United Way is the most effective way to improve lives and strengthen our community. Join other caring residents and local businesses by supporting South-Southwest Suburban United Way this year.

Thank you in advance for caring about others and investing in our community.
