00:00Let's go by the numbers and start with Tyler Soderstrom.
00:02You think he's a sell-high candidate.
00:04I know some people that were on him earlier this season as a breakout.
00:07A lot of moving parts with the athletics.
00:09Talk to me about old Tyler Soderstrom.
00:11Well, first of all, he's been fantastic.
00:13I'm not saying you have to go out there and sell him.
00:17And he's still just 23 years old.
00:18So despite the fact that you've seen him for a while and his career has not exactly gone off to a great start necessarily,
00:27certainly some moments there,
00:28if you look at the 2024 version of this player,
00:33it's really interesting because he played 61 games.
00:36And I think what's so interesting is you start to look at these numbers.
00:38So Soderstrom has nine home runs and 189 at-bats last year in 2024.
00:44This year, he had eight home runs and his first 63 at-bats.
00:48And now you can add a ninth home run already this month.
00:50So the pace is unsustainable.
00:53Guys are not going to hit nine, 10 home runs a month.
00:55It's just not happening because you used to do that math.
00:57That's Barry Bonds-level stuff.
00:59And that's not going to be Tyler Soderstrom, no matter what the ballpark is.
01:02So there's going to be regression.
01:03It's going to come backwards.
01:04So you've already gotten the best of Soderstrom.
01:07If you put him in a deal and bring back an Austin Riley or you bring back a Chris Sale plus or some sort of situation like that,
01:14I think you should be considering that.
01:15And I know we'll talk more about that, but it is kind of stunning to see where Soderstrom is currently at the top of that leaderboard.
01:22Also, what's so interesting, he's got nine home runs leading the major leagues.
01:25At eight is Cal Raleigh, who's hitting 235.
01:28Soderstrom's hitting 309 right now.
01:30And Mike Trout has got eight now after the two home run performance yesterday, and he's hitting $1.89.
01:36So some really interesting stuff there with Soderstrom.
01:39Again, a player that I am still excited about, I still like.
01:43I just feel like there's definitely going to be at some moment where things come back to normal a little bit and just normalize.
01:51It's just the nature of the beast.
01:52Baseball is a game of streaks, and he is on the hottest one of anybody in the month of April.
01:57Probably a really nice player.
01:59Chances are you got a deal on him.
02:01That's fine.
02:02You don't have to sell him off, but just keep in mind, if somebody's willing to pay or overpay for him, you might want to consider what that package looks like.
02:09Just say it.
