00:00DIY Crystals
00:02On August 18, 2009, an anonymous user on 4chan shared a seemingly innocent guide, how to
00:08grow stunning crystals at home using common household items.
00:12The recipe included items like laundry bleach, table salt, baking soda, pennies or some other
00:17copper coins, and ammonia.
00:19The instructions were straightforward, mix these ingredients in a large glass jar, add
00:23the pennies, and blow on them through a straw to trigger the reaction.
00:27However, anyone who followed these instructions was in for a horrific surprise.
00:32What seemed like a harmless DIY experiment turned into a nightmare, because the original
00:37poster's promise of beautiful DIY crystals was a flat out lie.
00:41In reality, combining ammonia and bleach produces chlorine gas, an insidious and highly toxic
00:46chemical.
00:48Chlorine gas can cause severe respiratory damage, excruciating chemical burns, and even permanent
00:52injury with just brief exposure.
00:55Prolonged exposure to high concentrations, on the other hand, can be life-threatening.
00:59And even if someone manages to survive, the excruciating pain with every breath feels like
01:03razor blades scraping their lungs.
01:05It's a literal war chemical that was used by Germany during World War I and resulted
01:09in the deaths of over 90,000 soldiers.
01:12To make matters worse, the step involving blowing on the pennies with a straw wasn't
01:16just pointless.
01:17It ensured that anyone attempting this experiment would lean in closer to the jar inhaling a much
01:22higher dose of the deadly gas.
01:24For someone to trick people into creating this deadly chemical in their home goes beyond
01:28the realm of simply trolling.
01:30It was calculated and downright malicious.
01:32The original thread has since been lost to time, leaving no way to determine just how
01:35many people fell victim to this cruel trick.
01:38However, I did uncover a reply posted just a few days later.
01:42In it, someone shared their horrifying experience of attempting the experiment, where instead of
01:46creating cool-looking crystals, they nearly died after inhaling the toxic fumes and had to spend
01:50a week in a hospital bed to recover.
01:53And from what I could find, he wasn't the only victim of this inhumane prank.
01:57The original thread eventually morphed into a copy pasta spreading across the internet
02:00like wildfire.
02:02It popped up on platforms like Reddit, Tumblr, and even in Roblox servers where it could easily
02:06reach a younger, more impressionable audience.
02:09Even if viewers figured out something might be off, multiple replies like,
02:13amazing, can confirm this works.
02:15And okay, just finished after a long, hard 25-minute blow, looks amazing OP, could easily
02:20erase any doubts and make the post seem legitimate.
02:23Tragically, that's likely what happened to an 11-year-old boy in Maryland.
02:26On the 18th of June 2015, someone made a post on the Legal Advice subreddit with the ominous
02:32title, My son accidentally killed himself because of 4chan.
02:36What followed was a heartbreaking account of a tragedy that could have been avoided.
02:40It stated,
02:41About a month ago, my 11-year-old son accidentally died when he followed instructions he saw online
02:46on a website called 4chan.
02:48Someone had posted detailed instructions on how to make what he believed to be crystals,
02:52but turned out to be poison.
02:54Is there any legal action I can take against the person who ruined my life and devastated
02:58my family?
02:59A friend recommended I ask around before paying for a lawyer.
03:02Any help would be appreciated.
03:03Sadly, due to the anonymous nature of sites like 4chan, there's no feasible way for this
03:08parent to uncover the identity of the original poster or seek justice for their son.
03:13The only silver lining here is that this deadly copypasta has since faded into obscurity, reducing
03:18the chance of more victims falling into its trap.
03:25What Does Bee Keep in the Freezer?
03:27On December 5th, 2007, a user on 4chan's random board started a very innocent-looking
03:32thread with the title, What Does Bee Keep in the Freezer?
03:35Guess what's in mine?
03:36Alongside this, the anonymous user also posted a picture of an open freezer with something
03:41black sticking out of the bottom.
03:43At first, most people saw this as nothing more than a joke and gave humorous answers
03:46like cake and Bambi's mom.
03:49Some also turned to dark humor with one reply speculating if the OP had a body in the freezer.
03:54This guess turned out to be more true than anyone could have imagined.
03:58About 5 minutes later, the OP replied with a chilling, Well done, alongside a photo of what
04:02appeared to be a severed human leg stored in the freezer.
04:05Over the next 10 minutes, the OP posted two more images.
04:09One revealed multiple severed limbs wrapped in a black plastic bag, and the other showed
04:13the OP's hand in front of these limbs giving a disturbingly casual thumbs up.
04:17Shortly after, the OP vanished from the thread, leaving others to speculate about the true
04:21origin of these limbs.
04:23Some users tried to debunk the photos, with one attempting to reverse image search to prove
04:26they'd been lifted from somewhere online.
04:28However, they couldn't find any matching images anywhere on the internet, suggesting
04:32the chilling possibility that the OP had taken the photos himself.
04:36This raised an unsettling question, were the body parts in those images real?
04:40It's entirely possible the limbs were just props, likely for a horror film or a similar
04:44project.
04:45The OP might have staged the photos by placing the props in a freezer to make them resemble
04:49the aftermath of a horrific crime.
04:50But, as one reply in the original thread pointed out, the body parts looked far too realistic
04:55to be mere props.
04:56They also displayed signs of freezer burn, something that would only happen with actual
05:01skin and flesh.
05:02Now, if the limbs were real, it raises an even more disturbing question, who did they belong
05:06to?
05:07Unfortunately, the original poster didn't give any hints in any of his posts.
05:11However, after examining every detail, I managed to narrow it down to some of the most
05:14plausible theories.
05:16The first, and most horrifying, is that the OP was a serial killer, and those limbs belonged
05:20to their victims.
05:21However, this theory, while chilling, is also the least likely.
05:25Final killers who taunt the public with evidence of their crimes often leave trails to claim
05:29responsibility or provoke fear.
05:31They might include cryptic notes, references to other crimes, or follow-ups to attract more
05:35attention.
05:36But, this OP did none of that.
05:37There were no cryptic messages or any further attempts to draw attention beyond the initial
05:41post.
05:42Additionally, sharing such damning evidence anonymously without any follow-up doesn't fit
05:46the profile of someone seeking notoriety or validation for their actions.
05:50The second theory is the OP stole the body parts from a morgue, where he worked.
05:54However, the main issue with this theory is that the vast majority of morgues operate
05:58under strict regulations, and missing body parts are treated as a serious violation.
06:03Such an act would likely result in an investigation, making it almost impossible for the OP to smuggle
06:07out limbs unnoticed.
06:08Which leaves us with the last, and most plausible option.
06:11The limbs were real, and actually belonged to the OP.
06:14As absurd as it may sound, there have been several cases of people preserving their own amputated
06:18limbs after accidents or illness for sentimental reasons.
06:22Some hospitals even have procedures that allow patients to take possession of their amputated
06:26limbs.
06:27That said, these are all theories with no concrete evidence to support any of them.
06:31And with nearly 18 years having passed since the original threat appeared, it's unlikely
06:35we'll ever uncover the truth behind this disturbing mystery.
06:41Drone stalking.
06:43On the 10th of April 2020, someone started a thread on 4chan with a seemingly bizarre question.
06:49Is this dude wearing a full face mask inside?
06:52Alongside the post, they shared a photo of a couple lounging on their couch watching something
06:55on a laptop.
06:57And while the guy in the picture looked a bit creepy with his covered face, he was most
07:01likely wearing a skincare mask.
07:03But what caught everyone's attention was the odd framing of this picture, with one person
07:06asking, why are you taking photos inside some random dude's house?
07:10That's when things took a turn from strange to downright disturbing.
07:14The OP responded to this question by explaining that the apartment actually belonged to the
07:18girl in the photo who was an Instagram influencer.
07:20He also mentioned that he had been, quote, following her.
07:23In other words, the OP was admitting to being a stalker.
07:26Naturally, this raised even more questions.
07:28Another user asked how he was able to take this picture from their porch without getting
07:31spotted.
07:32And the response was quite disturbing.
07:34The OP explained that the apartment was a high-rise building, and they had been using
07:38a drone to stalk the girl from kilometers away.
07:41To further prove their story, the OP shared a screenshot of an Instagram story posted by
07:45the girl.
07:46In it, she expressed her fear and discomfort after spotting a drone hovering outside her
07:50window.
07:50The caption saying,
07:52This drone literally came outside my window and chilled there for a while.
07:55This can't be legal, right?
07:57However, before anyone could extract more information from the OP, he disappeared from the thread,
08:01leaving everyone wondering about his creepy behavior.
08:03Some users speculated that the entire post was fake, pointing out that the lights visible
08:07in the original image were missing from the Instagram story.
08:10However, a closer examination of the original photo reveals that the OP wasn't lying.
08:15If you examine the image carefully, you can see the drone reflected in the window.
08:19So, it looks to be real.
08:21Unfortunately, that's where the trail ends.
08:23I was unable to track down the girl in the photo or the original Instagram story she shared.
08:27Hopefully, she was able to take legal action against this 4chan stalker.
08:30Sheep Killer Mystery
08:36On the 28th of January 2021, a user on 4chan's paranormal board made a lengthy post titled
08:42Mystery Sheep Killer.
08:44OP explained that he lived on a farm in rural Denmark, surrounded by animals, mostly sheep.
08:49One early morning, around 5am, he heard an unearthly scream.
08:53It was so unsettling that he struggled to describe it.
08:56A second scream followed shortly after, but living next to a forest, strange animal noises
09:01weren't uncommon.
09:02So, he brushed it off and went back to sleep.
09:05And sure enough, everything seemed fairly normal the next morning.
09:08However, two days later, something happened that shook him to his core.
09:12While heading to his college, the OP spotted his dad dragging a sheep carcass through the
09:16backyard.
09:17Now, deaths on the OP's farm weren't unusual, but this was different, and his dad admitted
09:21he'd never seen anything like it before.
09:24The left side of the sheep's face was entirely gone, stripped clean to the bone.
09:28Whatever attacked it had devoured the entire side of its face, including its tongue.
09:33Upon closer inspection, OP found no signs of a struggle.
09:36No claw marks, no torn wool, just a few bird feathers near the carcass.
09:40Some users on 4chan speculated that it might be a fox or another predator, but the evidence
09:44didn't line up.
09:45It's highly unusual for any predator to target a prey's face so precisely, while leaving
09:50the rest of the body untouched.
09:52A few people also speculated that maybe the sheep was killed by some crazy person on drugs,
09:56which would explain the almost precise cut.
09:59The claim that made the most sense, however, was that the sheep died of some natural cause,
10:02and was later eaten by a bird.
10:04And while this theory explained the random feathers on the body, it failed to account
10:07for the multiple screams OP heard a few days before.
10:10Unfortunately, with no evidence to go on, the case went cold for several weeks.
10:14That was until March 30th, when OP posted another update, and things took an even darker turn.
10:20A couple of weeks later, after his first post, things got even worse for OP.
10:24One night, he heard strange noises coming from the kitchen.
10:27When he went to check, his cat was freaking out, staring out the window like it had seen
10:31something terrifying.
10:32Later that night, he heard the same blood-curdling scream again.
10:36And the next morning, his worst fear came true.
10:38Another sheep had been killed in the exact same brutal way.
10:41Sadly, he hasn't posted any updates since March of 2021.
10:46And without more evidence and clues, it's unlikely we'll ever find out what really happened.
10:54Glowing blue syringe
10:55On December 11th, 2012, an anonymous user posted a photo of a syringe filled with glowing liquid,
11:02asking fellow users which part of his body he should inject it into.
11:06When one user asked for a timestamp to prove that this was real, the OP complied almost immediately.
11:11This demonstrated that he was willing to follow whatever instructions other users gave him.
11:15However, no one anticipated that he would actually go through with his promise.
11:19But when one user replied with,
11:21wrist, to his question, OP replied with a picture of him injecting the mystery fluid into a vein.
11:26And while others were still processing what they had just witnessed,
11:29the OP returned to the thread and posted pictures of his veins glowing in the same color,
11:33simply saying, veins glowing.
11:35However, before others had a chance to question OP about what this fluorescent liquid was,
11:40he stopped posting on the thread.
11:42Now, after a closer look, most users came to the conclusion that the OP extracted this
11:46mysterious liquid from a glow stick.
11:49If this was true, it would explain his mysterious disappearance.
11:52Glow stick liquid is extremely toxic,
11:54and can lead to fatal heart issues if injected into the body.
11:57In other words,
11:58the reason OP stopped replying was likely because he was either hospitalized,
12:02or had already died from the consequences of his idiotic actions.
12:05And when no updates came, even months after the original thread,
12:08most users assumed the worst, that he had, in fact, passed away.
12:12However, this theory has two significant flaws.
12:15For starters, there's no record of anyone dying from injecting glow stick fluid into their veins.
12:20A death this unusual would likely attract at least some media attention,
12:23yet there's absolutely no coverage of such an incident anywhere.
12:27More importantly, there's plenty of evidence to suggest that the whole thing is fake.
12:31For instance, in the photo where he supposedly injected the fluid,
12:35the needle looks to be just resting on top of his wrist rather than penetrating the skin.
12:39As for the image showing his veins glowing after the injection,
12:42it's probably just photoshopped to look that way.
12:45It does look somewhat convincing at first,
12:47until you notice the odd shape of the glowing veins.
12:49Wrist veins, in most people, don't make sharp, unnatural turns like the one shown in the image.
12:55Put simply, the OP likely created this thread purely for attention.
12:59It's highly probable that he's perfectly fine,
13:01and never actually carried out the dangerous stunt he claimed.
13:08Forest Grenade
13:09There have been multiple instances of 4chan users coming across real grenades and causing disasters.
13:15Like the incident I covered in a previous video,
13:17where someone actually dropped a live grenade into their toilet,
13:20because 4chan users dared them to do it.
13:22And another user did a similar stunt.
13:25It all started on the 26th of June 2012,
13:28when someone posted a picture of a rust-covered grenade with the caption,
13:31Look what I found laying in the forest today.
13:33Is it dangerous?
13:344chan users, of course, acted like they always do,
13:37and started suggesting the OP to, quote,
13:39pull the pin already.
13:40When he asked again if this thing was dangerous,
13:42another user replied,
13:44Nah, just pull the pin.
13:45After requesting a picture of the bottom of the grenade,
13:48one user pointed out that because the bottom wasn't drilled out,
13:51it was likely still live,
13:52as practice or unused grenades were always drilled at the bottom.
13:55But, despite asking others about the potential dangers,
13:58the OP chose to ignore their warnings.
14:00Instead, he continued experimenting with the grenade,
14:03seemingly driven by curiosity to see what would happen.
14:05He then proceeded to break its pin mechanism,
14:08microwave the grenade,
14:10and put it in a small fire,
14:11all while asking users for what to do next.
14:14However, after posting a picture of him running it over with his car,
14:18the OP stopped replying to any more requests,
14:20and was never heard from again.
14:22Some believe that the grenade was either fake,
14:24or was already disabled,
14:25while others think it may have actually detonated,
14:28costing the OP his life.
14:29However, after hours of searching the web,
14:32I wasn't able to find any news articles
14:33talking about someone dying from a grenade around that time.
14:37It's also possible that the grenade was real,
14:39but after so many failed experiments,
14:41the OP simply got bored and moved on with his life.
14:43Whatever the truth may be,
14:45it's unlikely we'll ever know for sure,
14:47especially 13 years later.
