Watch as singing Sunderland nun Sister Josepha receives Royal recognition from the King for selfless work in the community

Sister Joseph from St Anthony’s Convent of Mercy in Thornhill has been recognised by King Charles in the Royal Maundy Service.

00:00Okay, so what was it like to meet the king, then what did he say when he handed over your Monday money?

00:04It was very personal, and he actually, not just put the money in my hand, he actually got a hold of my hand

00:11and put his hand over the top of the coins and said,

00:15we're so glad to come and thank you for all the wonderful things that you've done.

00:20What would we do without you?

00:22And he just said, you never stop.

00:24He said, thank you, and he just walked on to the next person.
