00:00After one season missing the playoffs, one season in which you had to kind of blow it up at the trade deadline,
00:06do they deserve the opportunity to right the ship to get back to what he's saying and more some?
00:11Like, does one year wipe out the past?
00:14I mean, it wasn't that long ago they were setting records as the greatest regular season hockey team in history.
00:19It'd be hard for me to fire him, Fitzy.
00:20I don't know about you.
00:21I just think, I just, look, I love that they kind of cleaned house.
00:26To me, there's like a clear kind of, all right, we're starting over kind of thing,
00:31which I thought they would middle it, the trade deadline.
00:34They did not.
00:35And so let me, I want to see how they dig themselves out.
00:38At least, at least another year with Cam and Don.
00:43That's, I'd give them at least another year based on, you know, the previous eight years.
00:47They've made the playoffs, not great, but, you know, it's great to make the playoffs,
00:53but it's, you know, there's higher expectations for this team.
00:56So I'd give them at least another year to see what they do, in my opinion, Fitzy.
01:01I bet you they get another two years and not just one year.
01:04Again, Andy, we spoke about it the other day.
01:07I think the fact that they, with full authorization from ownership, everybody else,
01:12however it was phrased in Charlie Jacob's letter,
01:15they were given the capacity and authority to go for it a few years ago,
01:19and with that probably came, I mean, I think they expected to at least get past the first round,
01:23if not make it to the Stanley Cup finals.
01:25But when that happened and they traded all those picks,
01:29I think they probably got a, okay, you guys will get a couple years just in case it doesn't.
01:33So at least one year, maybe two.
01:35And so long as next year isn't a complete tire fire, Ted,
01:38that's what makes me think it'd be a couple years.
01:40Dan Ball, tell us why we're wrong.
01:41You're the puck head.
01:42No, you guys aren't wrong.
01:43I think your opinions are well justified.
01:45My only hope with this is that they continue their tradition of being aggressive.
01:49Like if they get a top five pick, I'd be fine with them trading it.
01:52I think the assets that you just acquired,
01:54they should be aggressive to try to move out for NHL-ready players.
01:57Because if they're going through a true rebuild with making their own draft picks,
02:01that is not their strong suit.
02:03I would be very worried to trust them with that kind of pick.
02:06But if they trade them for NHL-ready guys,
02:08guys that need new contracts, don't fit with the teams that they're with,
02:11I'd be a lot more comfortable with that.
02:12If you're Charlie Jacobs, are you alarmed at all of the fact that,
02:16I don't know, they've had three coaches?
02:18They're all fine.
02:18They're all fine.
