00:00Iran has confirmed that the next round of nuclear talks with the United States this

00:06weekend will be held in Rome. The announcement comes after earlier confusion over the location

00:12of the negotiations. Officials initially identified Rome as hosting the negotiations,

00:18only for Iran to insist early on Tuesday that they would return to Oman.

00:22An Iranian state TV announcement said Oman will again mediate the talks on Saturday in Rome.

00:27Meanwhile, Iran's president Masoud Pazeshkian formally approved the resignation of one of

00:33his vice presidents, Mohammad Javad Zarif, who served as Tehran's key negotiator in its 2015

00:39nuclear deal with world powers. The 2015 deal saw Iran agree to limit its nuclear activities in

00:46return for international sanctions relief. But since U.S. President Donald Trump's withdrawal

00:51of the deal in 2018, Iran has abandoned all limits on its nuclear program.
