00:00Per, the all-female crew, including the pop star Katy Perry, as we said, they're all back on Earth after reaching space.
00:08Do you think this was a space mission or was it just a visit? It's just tourism, right?
00:14It's a short trip. It's 11 minutes, as you said, and that's just the new Shepard on Blue Origin.
00:19It goes up. It goes past the Karmann Line.
00:22So technically, you do become astronauts when you pass the Karmann Line at 100 kilometers up and then you come back down again.
00:28So it is short, but it carries an enormous potential for them personally.
00:33They are clearly very emotionally affected by it in a good way.
00:37But also importantly, whether it's celebrities or indeed just normal people or other people going up to inspire a lot of young kids to live out their dreams.
00:48When I was a kid, it was not written in the cards that I was ever going to go into space, but it has that potential.
00:54And everybody, whether they're young, old, and whatever race or nationality, everybody seems to be so enthusiastic and interested in space.
01:04Not everybody wants to go, and that's okay.
01:07But I think it's very important that we get more women into space.
01:11Historically, that has been lacking.
01:13Fortunately, we are catching up.
01:15In our program, I think there's about a third of women, and that's very good.
01:20But having a female mission like this truly inspires lots of other women, young women, to go up into space and to live out their dreams, most importantly.
