Malaysian detained over goldsmith heist in Thailand had prior criminal record in Malaysia

A Malaysian man, who was detained for robbing a goldsmith in Bangkok, Thailand, has a criminal record in Malaysia, says Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.  The Inspector-General of Police said the 62-year-old man from Kulim Kedah, had 10 prior offences, including two wanted warrants for a murder case and Section 3(1) of the Emergency Ordinance 1969. 00:37Razaruddin revealed that the suspect had been living outside of Malaysia and used forged

00:42documents to conceal his identity in Thailand.

00:45When apprehended by Thai police, he was found in possession of a fake Thai identification

00:50card.

00:51Earlier reports stated that Thai authorities arrested a man believed to be Malaysian in connection

00:57with a gold shop robbery in Nonthaburi on April 9.

01:01Acting Chief of the 6th Police Investigation Division, Colonel Police Anusorn Thongsai said

01:06the suspect had also robbed a gold shop in Hat Yai on April 8 before fleeing to Bangkok.

01:12He was arrested while en route to his son's residence in Nonthaburi.

01:17According to Anusorn, the man used multiple aliases and false identities to avoid detection.
